Just lately theres been a few players swinging Louisville Sluggers that have the original Louisville trademark burned in on their bats...anyone know if its just a temporary thing or why its being done....I hadn't heard of this before.

I don't know the answer to that question, but it sure feels right, doesn't it? Now if they can just add back that "Powerized" branding too.

Love the nostalgic look over that newer Louisville Slugger version that plopped out.

I was under the understanding that LS quit burning the logo into the bat because it was discovered that it compromised the integrity of the bat.

Here is the link. Note in 2003. I also just looked that it says maple bats.

Hitting a baseball compromises the integrity of maple bats.

Tweeted out by Louisville Slugger the other day. By the way, follow @soxbats on twitter to see the latest on Red Sox game used bats.

The bat I posted was a Kinsler, but Castellanos has used them too. I got a reply from Louisville saying 'recently we had a few players inquire about the old Hillerich & Bradsby logo and asked if they could have it put on there bats'. I'd be curious if others did too or just Kinsler and Castellanos. I think it's awesome that they liked the history and look of the old bats to want that. Just great looking bats!!!!
