I saw that Goldin Auctions was offering a Anthony “Tony” Ferrara Yankees jersey from 1989. Described as a Coaches Jersey, but I don't recall Ferrara serving as a Yankees coach in 1989, nor do I recall the Yankees wearing an armband that season. Also #1 was already retired by the Yankees in 1986 for Billy Martin. Is this a minor league jersey, which brings me to the next question - if a number is retired by the parent club, does that apply to all of its minor league affiliates? I assuming it does, considering it's an "organizational' number.

looks like they wore black arm band four different times in the '80's. 1980,81,85,86

I don't see an armband ever being worn for Lefty Gomez, either.
