Game used World Series balls for BP?

Has anyone ever heard or seen of teams using the previous years World Series Balls ( stamped on ball)for spring training batting practice the following year?

Circa 2001-2002, I got World Series baseballs in BP at Comiskey Park...from the 2000 Mets/Yankees series!:eek:

I thought that to be funny that after winning the World Series... The white sox would use their souvenir gold labeled champion balls for BP. For the fans or just cheap?? Haha
