It's been relisted once already, but I'm wondering if the bat ever got into a game, due to the lack of the wrap on the handle.

My understanding has been that the later years (1998 and on?) were wrapped. Nick would know better on this.

Here's an old thread on Gwynn and his use of tape on his bat handles.

I have an ensemble of his from July 4, 1998, including the bat. There is no tape on the handle. I can check to see if there is anything that suggests tape was there at one time. The grouping came from his foundation.

Tony began consistently taping his bats in the mid '90's. There are a handful of legitimate Gwynn bats with no tape from '96-'01. Scott owns an example. This bat on eBay never saw game action.
