Thinking of going all in on this one. Saw a tag from a belle jersey from same year which did not have his name on it. Any thoughts from the experts? Thoughts greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

Joe,

In my opinion that Jersey shows appropriate non use. Those tags look like they just rolled off the press and are awfully minty.

I can't add anything on the jersey, but Albert Belle didn't play for the White Sox until 1997, two years after the Thomas jersey in GF's auction. Perhaps the tagging changed between those years. If the Belle was tagged 1995, I'd certainly question it.

That's what scares me about baseball - it is so common for a modern jersey to show little to no wear even if it's been worn. Makes the issued/used line very hazy. How can you really tell? Especially from pictures.

You can tell a lot from pictures like how crisp those tags are for one. I would want a 1995 gamer to show more wear than that. I also compared tagging to other 1995 White Sox gamers of his that sold at previous auctions and most of those if mot all are a size 48. Do you homework yourself it's not that hard to compare other jerseys of his that sold from that time period. Dropping that much and taking a chance knowing you cannot get your money back and have no protection or recourse you better be 100% convinced iys the real deal.

Numeric and alpha fonts on strip tag aren't what 1995 Russell tags use. Stay away!
