Do the tags look good on this for the era?

Anyone know if size is ok? My 2000 Grace GU hat is size 7 3/8 and this is a 7 1/4.

Thanks in advance for any input on this item!

I'm no expert, but most Grace hats I've seen have been 7-1/4". I've owned two Grace hats, one was 7-1/4" and the other was size 7-1/8" which he signed and inscribed "game used". I hope this helps.

Hi Twarman17.......I have owned 4 Mark Grace GU caps over the past 15 years.....2 New Era and 2 Sports Specialties.... and they all were size 7 1/4. Your size 7 3/8 sounds a bit too large for a player whose hair style/thickness hardly ever changed through the years. I even had him sign one of those caps back around 2002 and he recognized it as being his correct size and player ID. If you will notice, his bats, caps, batting gloves, etc. are marked with the same #17 style. Do a Google search for "Mark Grace Game Used" and look at all the images. The Sports Specialties tags are all correct for this time period as New Era had not dominated the entire Major League field of teams, and this particular set of labels are from the last couple of years that Sports Specialties were making on-field caps for many teams, especially the Cubs. You can evidence this by doing a Google search for "The Pro-Sports Specialties."

Hope this helps.......Thanks.

This cap is seeing lots of action...it's over $100 already! Grace is popular enough to draw that kind of interest.

Yeah, definitely lots of action still on Cubs-related Grace items.

It was the opening series hat made for the 2000 Japan series and has the special logo on the side. May have been an odd size due to the special event and not his regular hat. Was obtained directly from associate of Grace so definitely legit.

It finished in the neighborhood of $175. Not too shabby for a player who Bruce Levine of 670AM the Score considers as a member of "The Hall of Very Good".

I think that's a great price for a Grace game used hat! I also love the Levine reference Dave... The Score gets me through my drive to work everyday!
