It would seem PSA/DNA is authenticating the signature and inscription although some may think the COA covers the ball authenticity as it says the Item Is Genuine with no mention of Signature or the Inscription in the COA. On the PSA/DNA website it says:

Authentication Date: 11/02/2006

so they catch the ball and wait 5 years to authenticate the signature. What about the inscription?
Hard to tell by the COA. I called Benny Robinson at PSA/DNA and he said only the autograph was authenticated and not the inscription which I think the inscription is the most important part.

I have always been intrigued by these HR balls as you are putting a lot of faith in the seller as the provenance is generally "trust me---it is real".

Thats right, Albert also signed HR # 11 on the Major League Orb. This ball is 1/1 and I can guarantee there are no other balls out there that Mr. Pujols has signed and dated as a HR ball. It just doesn't happen, especially from the old Busch Stadium, his Rookie Year. The person who we obtained this from, caught the ball in 2001 against the Pirates, and had the ball signed at the game. Many times provenance and authenticity is hard to prove for Home Run balls, but you can take all the guest work out of this beautiful piece!
