According to Mike Acosta, Brandon Barnes only wore one road grey in 2013, and the MLB authentication database seems to support that.

To be sure, I videomatched the jersey, and it is the same one I own. I know that this is nothing earth-shattering, but it's fun to get items from photos I have taken.

1.) Mike Piazza 1992 rookie jersey. Supposedly the first ever jersey issued to Piazza during his September call up in 1992. Mike's rookie #25 used to be on the jersey and was switched to #31 the following Spring. Mike made his debut in Chicago and recorded his first career hit that day. The jersey is photo matched to his '93 Flair and '93 Bowman cards.
2.) Ladainian Tomlinson 2006 powder blue home jersey worn during his record-setting, MVP season. LT had 172 yards and 3 TD's vs Cleveland while wearing this jersey and possibly worn early in the season while playing Pittsburgh. It's hard to imagine a running back having a better season with the way the rules have changed. The jersey has countless photo matches.
3.) George Brett game used bat from his final opening day of his HOF career on 4/5/93. Brett faced Roger Clemens all four times that day and recorded career hit #3,006 during his second at bat. Judging by the use, I believe it would be safe to assume the bat was used for that specific hit and broken his final at bat, even though it cannot be proven without footage from the game.

All three items were previously owned by forum members and I am grateful for the relationships I have been able to build on this site over the years.

Every ball I've bought has been through mlb auctions. I paid $240 for Harpers 237th hit which was his 45th double and 106th RBI. Last year.

The stadium was empty, had to be less than 10,00 even though it said 20,000 online. And I doubt anyone else bought a ball. They also had a Harper strikeout and foul tip but I passed. I paid less than $80 for it.

2003 Derek Jeter game used bat. Excellent use- several ball marks and multiple seam impressions. Nice mota on the handle - typical Jeter characteristics. Had this bat for a while and just got around to pulling it out of the collection - planned on selling it but may keep it now.

Thanks, I can't wait to get this jersey in the mail so I can put it right next to my Darren Daulton 1993 all star game uniform. It's just amazing this hobby I have never had more joy collecting anything like game used before growing up being a big time phillies fan seeing these guys play and now I own their game used jerseys.

There's the number 33 faintly visible on the Blazers' exclusive tag; this would likely be Otis Thorpe, unless this pair was reused in a following season. Blazers pinwheel has been removed from the left leg, but otherwise a pretty cool piece.

Despite being a huge Blazer fan, I don't have much in the way of GU (a couple shooting shirts and a Ruben Patterson '06 practice jersey), so I'm enjoying this one.

I posted this as well in my Longo collection thread but hoping for some extra help in case more people read this one...

...The hologram number is HZ-048024 but is listed as game-issued even though it shows use...it's authenticated to April 3, 2014 the night that Longo tied the Rays franchise record with his 163rd career HR in the 7th inning...

...I've been trying to photomatch but it's tough because it doesn't show a TON of use (it was the 3rd game of the season) and I just got to open it this morning so I can't access MLB.TV until I get home...these aren't the best pics bc they are from my Iphone and there are nothing but really bright lights in my building so the glares are bad and you can't really see the tiny scratches and wear on the helmet....there's a couple of spots that might help including the tiny yellow splotches on the back half of the helmet and a few smudges above the "B" on the front of the helmet...ANY HELP PHOTOMATCHING WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

I don't know if they have an authentics program, I was just curious. Very nice piece though from a great sleeper prospect.

I posted this as well in my Longo collection thread but hoping for some extra help in case more people read this one...

...The hologram number is HZ-048024 but is listed as game-issued even though it shows use...it's authenticated to April 3, 2014 the night that Longo tied the Rays franchise record with his 163rd career HR in the 7th inning...

...I've been trying to photomatch but it's tough because it doesn't show a TON of use (it was the 3rd game of the season) and I just got to open it this morning so I can't access MLB.TV until I get home...these aren't the best pics bc they are from my Iphone and there are nothing but really bright lights in my building so the glares are bad and you can't really see the tiny scratches and wear on the helmet....there's a couple of spots that might help including the tiny yellow splotches on the back half of the helmet and a few smudges above the "B" on the front of the helmet...ANY HELP PHOTOMATCHING WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

It doesn't look damaged or cracked so I would check to see if you can find some spring training shots...those helmets are expensive and players had 1-2 in most cases last year. Wouldn't make any sense to retire one after 3 games and not get it authenticated as game used.

I take my comment back after searching the database. Everything near that authentication number is from the game so I guess it very well could be from that game.

There must be something wrong with it cause I didn't see any other helmets authenticated that day.

MLB authenticated for the regular-season. Tagged for the postseason where he was called up late he only had one set of alternate jerseys.

2005 Edgerrin James Colts Road Jersey - Colts LOA (Game Exclusives) - Worn against the NE Patriots on November 7, 2005 - Edge ran for 104 yds and a TD in the game and caught 3 passes for 9 yards - Last season Edge played for the Colts - Jersey has been laundered but there is a distinctive red/pink field paint mark on the right shoulder.

2004 Clinton Portis Washington Road Jersey - Worn against the CLE Browns on October 3, 2004 - Portis had a TD in the game - Portis' first season in Washington - Jersey is unlaundered and filthy with use (sorry for the poor quality of pics) - Numerous ways to photomatch it but the two dirt dots on the left shoulder are pretty distinctive.

Picked up a Jose Fernandez game used Strike out baseball from his rookie season. He used this baseball to strike out Tulo on July 23, 2013. He also beat them that game. Ball is from MLB and he signed it too. I'll have to do some research and see what career K number it was for Jose.

Murray Wall 1957 Boston Red Sox game worn home jersey. Murray pitched for the Sox in 57 and 58. Had a solid year for them in 1958. Jersey is all original and came from the Johnny Pesky auction in Fenway. Murray committed suicide not too long after his career while living in Texas. Here it is.

First Game of the Year, First Ball of the Year:

A line shot down the 3B line that ricocheted off the wall about 10 feet in front of me. Such baseballs are always a tough play since you can never predict just where the rebound is going to go. I stuck my mitt out and gloved it, but lost my balance and dropped it. I did get the ball thanks to a Cubs player who saw my valiant attempt to secure it. Kudos to him, but FIE on the nearby security guard, who refused to help me, although giving away a similar foul ball to another fan some 15 minutes later (apparently I wasn't young enough nor hot enough to be worthy of his time). And, yes, the ball is a Wrigley Field 100th Anniversary logo ball.

I have never caught a baseball despite numerous games in Chicago, Philadelphia and Atlanta. With 1800, you must be the Hank Aaron of In person game or practice used baseball collectors. I assume you don't use steroids.

I generally don't mark them unless they're either a milestone ball like the upcoming #1800, or a game ball, in which case I mark the information on the ball cube.

There are guys on Waveland Avenue who have snared over 3,000 in their time doing this. Sadly, with at least a few of them, their egos, as a result of this, have grown larger than their collections.

And, no, no steroids or HGH>;)

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. There are people in the game-used world who approach the hobby with a sense of entitlement, because they own more material possessions than other people.

Keep catching those balls, and good luck getting to #1,800 :)
