Hello ALL
YES, there IS an auction before the mammoth Babe Ruth Centennial Auction in July....it is our Opening Day Auction, and it begins March 31st (opening day for most teams around the league)
in this thread I will give an EXCLUSIVE sneak preview of some of the items of interest to game used collectors...
I will start with a few breathtaking GEORGE BRETT ITEMS

Very Nice!

I would appreciate it very much if all forum members could cease and resist(desist) from bidding on the bat, glove and uniform. I am making room for it at my house, so please do the right thing so that I may make them mine.

Thank you very much!

Joe

Always looking for everything game used Greg Maddux, Ken Griffey Jr., 1980, 1993 Philles and of course George Brett.

LOL. My wife is extremely thankful I work for Goldin and I am prohibited from bidding on items in the auction. Otherwise, I would have opened a new credit card as well!!

this, according to PSA/DNA and according to Denny Eskin, is the only Ted Williams fielder's glove in public hands that they view as authentic.

No Goldin Auction would be complete without a key Jeter item, would it?
this one if from the 125 Win, record breaking all important 1998 season...with incredible wear for a Jeter item

and, my last one of the night, I was texted a request for greg maddux items...
he made a few all star games in his day, didn't he?

Will post more throughout the week, and I will say the Basketball fans will NOT be disappointed....key Jordan, Lebron and especially KOBE item(s) to be featured

and when you see the bat, note (from our description) “a notable feature of this Greg Maddux professional model bat is the absence of a year code and order number stamped on the knob. After 1980, bats manufactured without year codes and order numbers were produced for World Series and All Star Games.” PSA/DNA contacted the manufacturer and were advised they made one bat for Greg Maddux during his first stint with the Chicago Cubs. The single bat was produced for the 1992 All-Star Game. This is the only Rawlings bat made for Maddux, produced for the 1992 All-Star Game.

I am a newcomer to Goldin's and I can tell you, the auction material is superior to any other auction that I have ever bid on over the last 25 years. This stuff is fabulous!

I believe the preview of the auction is set to open March 27th
if everything is in order, I will open it up early
the auction officially opens for bidding 3/31....but I wouldn't make plans Sunday night 3/30 based on our history of sneak preview bidding!

Ken, first of all thanks a lot for giving us a preview. For me, it helps me to prioritize my spending regimen. Second, is the Cabrera bat from 2012? Finally, is the Calvin jersey game used, or is it game issued? Thanks again for your time and consideration.

Is it possible there may be more prizes for GUU members?

(I figured I'd ask publicly to increase the possibility of a 'Yes' answer)

Chris,

How much $$ will it take to buy out this auction right now and end it? I am thinking about it so that we may focus on the Babe Ruth Auction. There is no point in keeping people sleep deprived all night long. I don't need the car, though. Sell it to SteelerAddict.

Thanks!
