Hi...another one....a heavy durene, dark green WILSON football gamer.

Team may be impossible to pinpoint, but can anyone tell me the era from the tagging?

Thanks!

1950s Wilson tagging. Notre Dame wore green in the 50s with no shoulder numbers. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. Check some photos of the Irish from the 50s.

1953 Notre Dame photo. It seems the numeral fonts match. Any other opinions? Don't be in a rush to sell...this may be a bona fide relic!

Don't let the Corbis management know you can't read their watermark.:)

That is actually mid 60's wilson tagging, Late 50's - early 60's Wilson tagging was the bigger square patch tag that is seen on cardinal, 49ers and rams jersey of this era.

Wilson switched to this smaller rectangle patch tag for only a few years in the 60's. My research shows that it was usually used on jackets between the years of 64-67.

This Wilson tag is from a jersey with 1965 year tag...this same tag was used on some Wilson jerseys from the late 50s. Wilson had many carry-overs that were used in the 50s and 60s.

Designed exclusively, is this the same mid to late 60s Wilson tag that you are referring:

This Wilson tag is from a definite 1964 warm up jacket. At first glance, I would call it a 1950s tag. It seems it's very difficult to pinpoint an exact year of Wilson tags from this era.

Here's a Wilson tag from an early 1960's Cardinals durene jacket.

The tagging on that stunning olympic piece is the mid 60s tagging I was talking about. I recently purchased a few items that were definitely 60's, but didn't know which years. I started taking notes from memorabilia sites on years stated and it seems the smaller rectangle one mentioned was only used for a few years during the mid 60's, (64-67) before the more recognizable square tag used from 68 -73 was used with was instructions.

Interesting that not too many people talk about the 50's larger square tag.

Also correct me if I'm wrong but the Irish stopped wearing green after 60, when they switched coaches.

Does the shirt have any wear patterns or repairs?

Same tag from a definite 1960 Olympic warm up jacket, that I unfortunately sold a while back. A few years back, my hard-drive was wiped out and I lost 100s of photos from my archives. I once had a 1948 Philadelphia Phillies batboy flannel with (what I thought) these same Wilson tags.

warren.. i date that white wilson tag with the washing instruction to 59-66 and its always just around.. then they changed to the red tag.....other sports, besides baseball they may have used that smaller tag as in the olympic shirt....
