Expert Clarification on 2 Historic Auction Jerseys

ATLANTA BRAVES GLAVINE AND CHIPPER JONES JERSEYS IN HISTORIC AUCTIONS:

I have a question about the Tom Glavine and Chipper Jones Game Worn jerseys in Historic Auctions.

Both the Glavine and Chipper Jones jerseys are void of the MLB logo on back ( which means they are pre 2000 jerseys). The photos show Russell Athletic tags on front. I had always been under the impression that Wilson made all the home jerseys for the Braves up until 2000. I thought Russell only made the road jerseys in the 1990's.

I searched getty and could not find a single photo of the home Braves jerseys with the "r" on sleeve during the 1990's. I also checked the Hartel catalog and all the 1990's home jerseys were made by Wilson.


Please let me know if am I right or wrong about this. I have no interest in buying anything from Historic or ESM I just wanted to know what the specs should be for my own knowledge.

the russell tag on the historic glavine dates from 1996-1999. in 1997, the braves wore the jackie robinson patch. in 1999 they wore the hank aaron 715 patch. the historic glavine lacks both of these patches. therefore, we have to assume it's either from 1996 or 1998.

it's possible that with 2 manufacturer's supplying the braves in a single season, perhaps glavine expressed a desire to wear russell while his teammates wore wilson. let's look at some 90's glavine shirts to see if glavine had a preference for russell:

seems that glavine wore what the rest of the team wore that year: wilson

wilson again. like you, i cannot find a single picture of any brave in 1996 or 1998 wearing a russell home jersey.

this "tom glaving" (sic) jersey has 5 bids. who's more inept: brad wells or the bidders?

when did jones start using "c.jones" on his home jerseys?

wouldn't this indicate that the historic jones could only be from 1996?
i can't find a single image of jones in 1996 in a russell jersey.
