I find it hard to believe that the 1989 home McGwire a's jersey only fetched $1,100. in last evenings Grey Flannel auction.
I'm curious as to why it went for an all-time low price. Was it based on:
1. A previous thread on the Forum questioning the position of the C on the nameplate (no photo style/match could be found)
2. The recent press that McGwire will not get in the Hall of Fame on the first ballot, or possibly ever
3. Other?
Your thoughts?

1989 Mark McGwire Oakland Athletics Game-Used Road Jersey (World Series Champions)
Lot # 487
On the inside left tail of this jersey is the "Rawlings" manufacturers tag with the jersey size "48" and wash instructions on it. Attached are three other tags which read "SET 1 1989", "T", and "2 INCH EXTRA LENGTH". Across the front of the jersey is "OAKLAND" in green on gold tackle twill. Below that and on the back is the player number "25" in green on gold tackle twill. Across the back is "McGWIRE" in green tackle twill on a grey name plate. There is velcro between the second and third button on the top of the jersey to help keep the jersey in line properly. On the left sleeve is the embroidered official "A's Elephant" logo patch. On the right sleeve is the embroidered "Rawlings" logo. The jersey shows game use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
