I just recently received a game used Boston College jersey that I believe was worn by Chris Snee (NY Giants OL).

He was at BC for the 2001, 2002 & 2003 seasons. I'm having a real difficult time coming up with pictures from that time frame, but I have a college card of his that shows him wearing this style jersey.

The jersey is hammered with use and tons of repairs all over the shoulders. Loose threads everywhere, etc, so I'm sure it's a worn BC jersey. Also, I bought it from the person who bought it from CBSAuctions which is where BC sells their game used items. In that listing though, it wasn't listed as being a certain player's and it was also listed as having an ACC patch even though the pictures show it having the Big East patch.

The question is if it was worn by Snee? As you can see from the pictures, it also has the Big East patch on it, so at a minimum, that dates it prior to 2005 when they moved to the ACC.

Anyway, if anybody can shed anymore light onto this situation for me, I'd REALLY REALLY appreciate it!!

First, nice jersey! Love it.
Second, as a college football game worn jersey collector, I can attest to the fact that it is particularly difficult attributing jerseys to specific players when nameplates have been removed. As you have done, it is important to track the provenance of a given jersey, and it is important to make sure the particular player in question could have worn the jersey (again, you have done this here). Photomatching is difficult, but not impossible. Often, universities have extensive photo archives (often accessible through the university library) that might help in your search.
Good luck in your research.

Alan

(The jersey in this auction, also #76 from the same period, is also a size 52.)

First, good find on the other jersey! I occasionally check CBS Auctions for anything of Snee's that would possibly come up, but obviously not enough.

If anybody happens to know who won this jersey, I'd be very interested in buying it! The buyer was user: pleasant391

Second, I'd obviously love to be able to photomatch it, but right now I'm just looking for information that would possibly narrow the years down to be only the years that he was there. Right now, all I've got is that it must be from pre-'05 and that I have a style match for Chris wearing this jersey. One thing that I was wondering is if anybody knows when they started using this exact jersey style and patch placement? That would help narrow down the timeline.

Thanks again!
