Sanchez spent the 1981 season at AAA Reading. He was issued 49 for the 1981 season, however. When he played in 1982, he wore 27.
My records indicate pitcher Dan Larson wore 49 in 1981.


What's interesting with the listing is that there is no mention of the actual name in the collar (team issued Phillies jerseys of this era should have a NIC, same style embroidery color as the year/set tag). Ask the seller for the name in collar, and likewise, if the name on back is original or restored.

The jersey is a real 1981 Phillies shirt. Once you have this information, we can actually determine what it is.

Thanks, Howard! I just got a response from the seller, who says the NIC is "Sanchez". I'll take a shot at it.

Note that the description indicates there are some mends. I'm willing to bet that the mends are near the nameplate SANCHEZ. The plate was either removed and reattached, or the plate was restored. The "mends" are most likely from the removal.
