PHOTOMATCH help please!!!!

I have tried to match the helmet and would like some help. I will post pics of what I think is a match but I have trouble zooming in. The recertified sticker on the inside is 2002. I do not know enough about helmets to know what year it would be used in?

Here are photos from 2003. If recertified in 2002, then I would assume used in 2003. What do you guys think. I can not zoom in. I do not know how. The only thing that I can go off of is the Riddell on the chin strap fading. Please help!!! Thanks

There are hardly no pictures of him in 01 02.

Nice lid! There should be date identifiers on the clips, facemask and inside portion of helmet beneath padding under one of the ear holes. This could help narrow down the timeframe of your search assuming all original pieces. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Also, take a look at eBay. Believe it or not, a pretty good photo matching source. To COWBOYS4EVR's point, I agree probably used in 2001/2002. There are some photos from his rookie year that seem to better match your helmet.

I've looked through every photo I can find from 2001-2004 and I don't see any matches

There are some that show similar wear to the Riddell logos on the lower straps, but they're clearly not the same

I looked as well and could not find a match. I know Steve sold off a lot of his stuff and it all came with a Steve Smith 89 COA with hologram.

Overall, I do agree with the others that have offered their opinion on this thread in that I have not found anything definitive photo matches. Some characteristics are similar, some are troubling. I cannot find any photo evidence to support the relationship between the placement of the center stripping and team logo, especially in how they all line up in your picture of the helmet's back.

In addition to the black screws, the "89" font is too big and the "Panthers" font on the back bumper is too big.

I think you may have a practice squad helmet that's been doctored...

Sorry to hijack, but Ironically, I too have a Steve Smith helmet that I am trying to photomatch. Mine appears to have the proper screws. I am offering anyone $100 via paypal for a photomatch. The clips are Schutt and 03 30 on them.

The American flag is much higher on the one he's wearing on that game photo. And the end of the lower strap goes up almost to the bottom of the Panther logo. Yours is much shorter and points toward the bottom of the warning label.
