Was contemplating a purchase of a 94 Oilers jersey. However I have not found any evidence of them using stitched numbers that season. It appears they had screened jersey's the whole season. Can anyone chime in on this?

I have seen 1994 Oilers jerseys with twill numbers sewn over the screened on numbers. Not sure the reasoning. Maybe ask the seller to look on the inside of the jersey and see if it appears this is the case.

I remember reading that they put the twill numbers over the screened numbers so they could re use them for the 1995 season. That still would not explain the patch unless it was never removed. Ot it was removed and re sewn on.

Also he did not play in 1995 so that could explain why the 75th patch was never removed.

thanks for the insight, I recall seeing a Lamar Lathon 94 jersey that had stitched on numbers. The back 4 also looked strange to me.

That is probably the jersey you are referring too.

Also just a note on the COA. Jim Yackel of Jim's Jerseys all though no longer a dealer is a stand up guy. I dealt with him several times years back. I always found him to be knowledgable and accurate with his descriptions.

Looks like my inquiry prompted a sniper. Always the risk when asking fellow collectors for advice. That's the way it goes
