Pete Rose Phillies Spikes?

I bring your attention to the following Ebay auction from Universal Rarities, offering a pair of "Pete Rose Phillies game used spikes":

There's only one slight problem with these-they were never worn by Rose.

Rose wore Mizuno brand with the Phillies (NEVER NIKE) and the Phillies did not change to RED spikes until the 1992 season. They wore MAROON during the Rose era. 5 seconds of homework/research would have shown that these are not Rose spikes.:confused:

Of course, I emailed Universal Rarities about this, and will update this thread once I hear back.

now the more interesting question: from nov 2005 to nov 2006, these spikes seem to have somehow acquired more use. the "14" originally written inside the show was dark, bold, and, as i noted in the previous thread, looked like it had been freshly applied. apparently someone else noticed this as well because the "14" that now appears inside the cleats is substantially faded. magic!
