The size seems right for Jordan's days with the Wizards. That said, however, I'd be a lot more comfortable if MEARS graded the item, rather than just issue a MEARS auction LOA. To see a high grade (as opposed to the nebulous A5) would increase my confidence in the item.

So the jersey is not graded an A5?

It looks to me like the jersey has a basic MEARS LOA without a number grade. I would direct any questions about this to Troy at MEARS as he could answer such a questions.

I would assume this jersey would grade A5 as if it had better documentation the auction house would mention such.

I agree with Dave, that the style/size matches from that year, but of the several "real" game worn Wizards MJ's in the past 5 or so years, have all come with direct Wizards LOA's from their promotions dept.

Not saying this one is not game worn, but I would feel more comfortable knowing it's direct provenance and/or a MEARS A10 letter.

Yeah, I'm still looking for one of those from UD and their promotional dept. Last one I saw as a couple years ago on Grey Flannel. Kicking myself for not grabbing it. I really want one and haven't seen one since

why the heck even offer LOA (or LOO) if it states neither worn or not worn??,.,I guess , or should we assume its up to us to prove its not what it is...but until then, it maybe is what it is advertised as. Have we all forgot about the procut jerseys with LOA's a few months back? Why does a replica shirt need a LOA?? I guess mistakes happen....

To All,

Very nice thread about this Wizards jersey

There had been a few of these Wizards Jerseys in the market lately in the last few years:

The legit ones are the ones with the Washington Wizards LOA and show a lot of game use. The MEARS auctions shows the same exemplars as the link I posted below. However, as we all say, buyers beware and do your homework.

Robert Edward Auctions (same set as Legendary Auctions)

the Hamilton loa's hold as much legitimacy as the Justin zastrow (milwaukie bucks ballboy) loa's ... both are equivalent to extra hard toilet paper

The Wizards and UDA only issued LOAs for MJ's second season with the Wizards, 2002-03. All of the links listed above are from the 2002-03 season. The jersey listed on Mears is from MJs first season with the Wizards, 2001-02. The 9/11 patch is the easiest way to tell the difference and distinguish between the two seasons.
