Need help with this George Foster game used bat!

Can anyone tell me what year this game used George Foster P72 bat is from? The bat measures 35 inches?

Hi Bobby---

Foster bats of the period were uniformily P72 / 35 inches / 35 ounces / Hickory finish, with the exception of one 1977 order of Model D113 bats and two early 1979 orders of 36 inch P72 bats.

In 1979 Foster requested that weights be marked on the knob prior to shipping (generally in pencil) so you may want to check the knob closelt in an attempt to narrow the date of manufacture.

I checked and nothing is written on the knob. Thanks so much for the detailed information. Looks like this bat was used either 1977 or 1978, his most productive years at the plate.
