In the 1961-64 labeling period, Mathews ordered H & B model S2 (35" and 36"), U1 ( 35" and 36"), O1 (35"), and A99 ( 35") in descending order of frequency. All bats were 32 to 34 ounce range in weight. Virtually all orders were Flame Burned/Treated finish, and Mathews requested that the weights be marked on all bats.

In addition, there was a single order of six S2 bats shipped on 5/21/63 that were 34 1/2 inches in length...that was the only deviation from Mathews' standard 35" or 36" orders during the label period.

A significant number of Mathews team index bats have surfaced in the hobby over the years, most notably model S2, which is Mathews' Pro Stock model. Check LOAs closely for any bat of the period that falls outside of the documented factory records.
