Folks, I'm almost stunned at the blatant dishonesty with this one. On Nov. 2, I sold a game used 1980s Yankees batting helmet with the #47 on the bill and brim. As noted in the description, it had about 2-3" crack up the right side o the brim. Here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330043555105&rd=1&rd=1

As you can see, jdaddy05 purchased the helmet. Since receiving it, this moron removed the 47 from the front and back of the helmet and replaced it with a 13 and an MLB logo, and is now trying to pass it off as an 2005 A-Rod on eBay. Here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ALEX-RODRIGUEZ-GAME-USED-BATTING-HELMET-NX-PUJOLS_W0QQitemZ290052914742QQihZ019QQcategoryZ605 96QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You can actually see where he tried to buff out the old ABC logo. The fake MLB logo has been placed directly over the spot where the 47 once was. Everything about this perfectly matches the one I sold. Specifically, check the shot of the inside padding. If for whatever reason this thing sells, it should be easy to nail him with mail fraud.

Have I emailed this loser? You bet. And ebay got one, too. Keep an eye on this guy and the crap he tries to sell in the future.

Also, you'll see that I have yet to receive feedback from him. It will be interesting to see if he decides to leave negative feedback.

His "Scott Spiezio game used jersey" is a classic, too! Love the neck tag and number font!

Also note that the seller jdaddy05 (Josh Weaver) will not issue refunds or returns.

I went to the Ebay auction and sent the clown an email. I couldn't help myself. I called him a POS and a crook. This is probably the worst case of fraud I've seen.

the spezio is a festering pile of garbage yet the auction says it comes with a "team coa". the arod helmet speaks for itself and yet it too comes with a "team certificate of authenticity".

am i the only one who's dying to see these "team coas"?

Rudy-
I requested the "A-Rod" COA a few days ago. No answer or proff that it even exists!

What did you really expect, Rudy?

i imagine many don't find this seller or his items amusing, but i have to confess i think they're hilarious. everything from the descriptions to the items themselves.

jdaddy original's purchase of the spezio:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280033430326

even the guy he bought it from said: "I'am the original owner I bought this at the A's fanfest (When the team sells the jerseys) they have in Oakland every year before the season starts." like i said, i'd love to see that coa.

the barry bonds bat and the chris duncan photomatch are insane.

as for the "arod" mariners helmet, here's his original purchase("OBTAINED FROM COLLECTORS ESTATE SALE. NO L.O.A."):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200034642337

he then resold it as an arod gameused helmet ("COMES WITH TEAM CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY"):

on the arod mariners helmet, i just noticed he removed the "ABC" sticker and scrubbed off the "C.L." initials originally found inside the helmet and wrote "A.R." in their place.

i love it!

Actually, when someone has this many negative feedbacks and with the comments that have been written, I'm always surprised when people still deal with goofs and crooks like this.

When one of these great threads starts it is so much fun to read and follow along. It is like a short detective story. This is why this website is great! Keep up all the great work everyone does to help out collectors.

Hey Momen -

Take it easy on the Philadelphia lawyers, even we are offended by this! :D :D . Is someone sending this info on to the proper authorities for investigation? What is the best way to report this guy, his local PD?

I always am entertained by the investigation but, as we all recognize, it just poisons our hobby and drives away collectors.

sorry sox, no harm intended to anyone here. it goes to show just how loosely ebay enforces their rules. all ebay cares about is collecting their fees.

The buyer of the bogus A-Rod helmet is apparently unhappy with his purchase...

jdaddy05's (Josh Weaver) response is classic. This guy needs to spend some time in the pokey.
