Hi,

What does R 1935 stamped on a vintage H&B knob represent?

Thank you.

Sammy The R 1935 knob stamp was for a Babe Ruth replica bat that was originally produced by the J. Petermann company catalog. It was made to the specs of Babe Ruth's last bat order. The labeling on the bats is also intentionally incorrect so they can't be passed off as gamers. The bats came with COA'S signed by John Hillerich III. Unfortunately I have seen many of these bats that people have tried to pass off as the real thing, and many purchasers thinking they have found gold when all they have is a $100-$200 souvineer. Rob

Is that the same J. Peterman whom Elaine worked for on Seinfeld?

Yes the very same J. Peterman. I believe he played minor league baseball and was very friendly with the folks at H&B. Rob
