Hello. I know similiar topics have been discussed, but I wonder why big companies such as Steiner, Elite, ect. ALWAYS use blue sharpie's on bats, jerseys, and things.

I know that blue and black are common, but most bat collectors I have talked to say that black is best on bats, I am not sure on jerseys.

Just wondering why its always blue??? maybe it looks a little better??

Well I don't know if black is always better on bats, I personally prefer Blue on bats as from what I have experienced it lasts longer and one of the main reasons I think it looks better.

The first game used bat I ever had signed was a 1991 Steve Finley Cooper that he signed in February 1992 at AstrosFest. It is in blue sharpie and looks like it was signed yesterdy. I had a Luis Gonzalez sign a Worth bat on the same day, and the blacki has faded considerably with yellowing around the edges of the signature.

Blue is the way to go . . . and of course keeping them out of direct sunlight.
