Yovani Gallardo Bat

hi, i saw this bat on ebay and was interested in it but then i realized the listing says that the number 21 is written on the knob but gallardo is number 49. does this mean someone else used it? i have no idea what year the bat is,etc

Most likely, Melissa. Out of curiosity, superstition, the desire to break a slump, and other reasons, players trying and using other players' bats is not unusual, though not common, neither.

I haven't seen any Sam bats from the last few years, but, in the past, the barrel end has dating information. You might ask the seller what the writing on the barrel end says...you can at least pin down the player who DID use it.

If I remember correctly,I believe Alcides Escobar #21 when he was called up in 2009 and maybe in 2010 would at times use Yovani's bats.
