Louisville Cardinals basketball uniform

Trying to determine what time period this Louisville Cardinals basketball uniform is from. It is manuf. by adidas, size 43. Told it was early 1980's but can't seem to find a match. Any info would be greatly appreciated...

I don't believe that is real; I think it's some kind of fan wear stuff made by adidas long before they became U of L's official suppler. It seems like they were mostly wearing Champion during the 1980s.

I do recall them getting some kind of odd uniforms to wear for a holiday tournament while I was there (that would be 1980-1984) but I don't recall it looking like this. I could wrong and this was done for some other tournament, but unless it was done for and only worn in that situation this isn't an authentic U of L uniform.

Unless Louisville wore that garb sometime in the 70s, which I don't think they did (even if so, would be unlikely to have the adidas logos), it's not a game-used uniform. Definitely not a style worn 1980-today, unfortunately. Might be a prototype. Cool design though!

The gentleman we purchased the uniform from was working at U.Louisville during the early 1980's. It was given to him by the equipment guy after the season(not sure if it was 1981 or 1982). He told him it was used by Derek Smith. Unfortunately that is all of the info I have...
