Bat Question

Just picked up this bat which has white tape on it which im guessing was put on after it was cracked. But the tar on the tape has me thrown off alittle. But should I remove the tape?

I would if I was you, I've gotten a few bats like that and always take the tape off.. just think it makes them look better!
