The shoes bear the names of all of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre.

I hope these end up in an auction which the proceeds go to the families. I'm not a football collector but I would bid on these

From what I understand the proceeds are going to be given to the Sandy Hook families. It was pretty awesome seeing him wear those last night. I haven't heard where he's auctioning them off but I'm pretty sure it'll either be his website or through the Titans website. I'll post if hear any more details.

(Granted, HE didn't write the names on the shoes because everything is spelled correctly, but it's a really awesome gesture he probably had the idea to do)

ok... Curious question though, do you think they would go this high for any other charity. Say Johnson put 26 random names on his cleats of children that died in a day from starvation, do you think they would still go for over $6,000. Also over 16,000 children die everyday from starvation, but I guess people forget about them.

Also I'm not trying to be mean or anything and it is obviously a very sad thing that happened and children that young should never die. But don't understand why the media focuses on only 20 when over 16,000 die every day. God bless them and rest in peace

Sadly, to many, 16,000 is a statistic. Instead, in this case, we have 26 names, each which we can put a face to, thanks to media coverage. Thus, I don't think six random names of those who have starved to death - none covered by the media - would garner the same amount of publicity or bids.

Wish there were an edit button. Should say 20 names...

I think the cleats going for so high is a great thing.
Concerning 16,000 kids dying every day, its an awful, awful thing. But I REALLY wish people who couldnt afford to feed kids would not HAVE kids. You cant feed a child, dont have them. Its that simple. Not the childs fault, but if you feed all of them (which I wish they all could eat), the people will just have more and more... then what? Regardless of what you do, idiotic people and nations will still have kids who they cant feed. Horrible thing... but I get tired of people making others feel guilty about people being complete fools.

Anyway... Happy holidays! Go bid on the cleats!
