There is a rookie gamer of Cano on Ebay with rock solid LOA for 1/2 that. Crazy.

Thank you all. I have promoted the fact that I started with a list of 100,000 collectors OUTSIDE THE GENERAL HOBBY and went in the auction with a strategy of providing real LOAs with all items (not letters written by the auction house or similar 'auction letters' you are required to upgrade.) A low 10% buyers premium, and the best stuff you can possibly find for the GU collector...and the results speak for themselves. You can see what the jeter, Cano, Jordan, Pujols, and similar items sold for.

I will simply say this. If you want to get similar prices for your quality GU items, contact me at ken@goldinauctions.com

thank you all for your support, It means a lot to me. Next auction opens late January

I don't get it, people paying 3-5x the value for these bats? Yet a Ripken minor league bat only fetches $2,500?

I thought several bats were around the right value... The SSK Cano (was mine), the Pujols bats were not crazy, the unsigned 2011 Jeter looked good (I bought it), the Hornsby bat seemed low if anything, etc. They all sold for reasonible prices. I'll be looking to buy in the next auction for sure... just not a 2005 signed Cano bat I guess. The Ripken bat would have brought a lot more if it was a 1982 bat. Pretty cool debut auction, I'm happy for Ken and I'll also be sending more bats to future auctions.

I agree that most of the bats brought reasonable prices but the '09 Jeter and Cano rookie seemed way out of wack.
Does a World Series year bat really add value when they've won 5 rings? Especially a bat made for spring training that year.
