I know there are a few of us on the board that collect Beltran items. I will try and add some of my items on here as I have time. Tyler and Nick I know also collect Beltran.

I'll start off with a 2012 game used cracked Marucci Los15 Custom Cut bat used by Beltran during the 1st half of 2012. This bat was used to hit career HR 319 and 320. The bat was originally sold through Cardinals Authentics and I am the 2nd owner of the bat (thank you Jeff for selling it to me). MLB authenticated.

Sweet bat. I love the use on that one.

My Beltran items include 2 jerseys and one bat from 2011.

The first jersey is a home pinstripe. This jersey is photomatched to 6 home runs and tons of hits/rbis/steals. This one is mlb authenticated as issued, but it is clearly used as indicated by use patterns and the photomatches. This is my favorite jersey.

Also included are photos of my 2011 bat. This one is uncracked and hammered with use.

My other jersey is a 2011 Black Set 2. This one shows nice use as well but it tough to photomatch with it being darker. Carlos did have a three home run game wearing a black shirt last year that I believe is my jersey, but I'm not 100% on the match. Either way, a nice jersey.

Thanks for sharing Tyler, the Mets did have his 3 HR game jersey for sale, it was specifically marketed as such. Unfortunately it was sold when I asked about it, I waited too long.

CPuente, cool bat. It is interesting to see the taped handle/knob. I have seen a few Beltran bats like that through the years, I actually own a LVS from his Royals days with the tape.

Anyone have any Beltran Astros' items? I would love to see them. I know he was only there for half a year, but he had some pretty awesome games in that '04 postseason. :D

Les,
ask and you shall receive

2004 NLCS games 1 and 2 used bat. This is from Beltran's 2004 record tying postseason where he smacked 8 HRs to tie Barry Bonds single postseason record (while doing this without the WS). The bat has a handle crack and comes with a Houston Astros LOA where it states that it was used in Games 1 and 2 and collected after game 4.

That's absolutely awesome. I've been a Beltran supporter ever since watching his amazing performance that postseason. Although I don't own any Beltran game used, I remain a fan, even though he didn't re-sign with Houston. :)

This is his game used bat from the 2004 NLCS games 3 and 4 also collected after game 4 and comes with an Astros LOA. This bat has a crack as well. In games 1 and 2 Beltran hit HRs 5 and 6 and in games 3 and 4 he hit HRs 7 and record 8.

I was able to recently aquire a 1999 Carlos Beltran Rookie of the Year game used Royals jersey. Beltran wore #36 in 1999 before switching to #15 in 2000. This is one of my favorite game used Beltran jerseys that I own. It is also nice to see the many game use from the jersey. The more recent Beltran jerseys that I have collected do not show near the amount of use as this one.

Carlos Beltran 2004 game used Monarchs/Royals jersey. This jersey was originally sourced through Hunt Auctions and at one time had an LOA from the Kansas City Royals. Before the Negro League Baseball Museum started selling these jerseys through their going yard sale, they would be offered through Hunt Auctions.
http://www.huntauctions.com/online/imageviewer.cfm?auction_num=22&lot_num=113&lot_qual=a

Anyway I was able to aquire this jersey in a trade for some other Royals jerseys at the All Star game fanfest this past year. The jersey appears to be unwashed but I do not have the original Royals LOA that came with it. Good thing for the internet and Hunt's digital photos as I can trace my jersey back to this auction. What is interesting about this jersey is that it is a size 48. For most of Beltran's career he has worn a size 46, except in Houston where he wore some size 48 jerseys. I am guessing that the larger size was to go with the theme of the oversized jerseys for the tribute day, but who really knows. 2004 was the year of Beltran's first all star appearance where he was the first man to make both the American League and National League All Star teams in the same year. He was selected to the AL team before being traded to Houston where he was chosen by the Manager to be on the NL team.

2011 Carlos Beltran game used away Giants jersey. 2011 was an All Star year for Beltran but he was traded midseason to the Giants from the Mets. The Giants never really got going after the trade and they missed the postseason. MLB authenticated, size 46 cool base. This jersey was originally sourced direct from the San Francisco Giants game used department and I am the original owner. It is MLB authenticated to September 24th, 2011. What is interesting is that this jersey was also worn on September 25th, 2011 (The line snag of the right sleeve of the jersey near the WS patch is appearant in photos from the game on the 25th as well as other road games). This was the Giants last road game where Beltran went 2 for 4 with a home run, his last of the season. The 2011 home Giants jersey that I also own of Beltran was similarly authenticated to the 2nd to last game of the season but was worn in the last game of the season (easily photomatchable by the eye black stains on jersey, I will post photos of this jersey at a later time).

Anyway, the jersey itself shows pretty good use for a coolbase jersey as there is a bunch of pilling on the front of the jersey. It remains in an unwashed state and has pine tar/dirt stains still on the jersey. On the inside a 2011 year tag is present. Also present is the 2010 World Series patch on the right sleeve.

Carlos Beltran game used Mets home jersey MLB authenticated to 7-26-2006. In this game Beltran was 2-3 with 2 BB, 2 SB and scored the game winning run in the 10th to beat the Cubs 1-0. The jersey has some dirt, sweat and other stains still present.

Nice thread revival Tyler.

2010 Game Used Carlos Beltran Mets Road jersey. MLB authenticated to 9/26/2010 when Beltran had a 2 HR, one from each side of the plate, game against the Phillies (3/5, 2R, 2 HR, 3 RBI). The jersey has some grass stains on the front and some dirt/tar stains on the back right shoulder. It is tagged set 2 and is a size 46

heck of a NLCS game 1 last night.

Here is a 2012 first half game worn batting helmet used by Beltran. MLB authenticated to last use date July 8th, 2012. The batting helmet was acquired through Cardinals Auctions directly.
In Spring Training of 2012 Beltran was still wearing the cool flo style helmet before he switched to the newer style helmet at the start of the season. This helmet was likely used when Carlos stole his 300th base (6/15/2012) becoming the first switch hitter as part of the 300-300 club and also when he got his 2,000 hit (6/29/2012). His strong 2012 first half propelled him into the ASG as a starter in Kansas City where he also participated in his first HR derby.

2004 Astros Game used jersey. After his mideseason trade, Beltran finished up 2004 with the Astros. The jersey has an Astros team letter stating its use. Also of note on this jersey is the 2004 All Star game patch removal. The letter states that the patch was removed from the right sleeve. I have no idea why though, the outline can be seen. Style shown being worn by Beltran. In 2004 it appears as though Beltran wore size 48 with the Astros following his trade. This was a departure from his normal size 46. Beltran also has worn size 48 with the Cardinals.

Carlos Beltran 2001 game used autographed away jersey
I purchased this jersey originally from Howard Wolf back in the early 2000s. It is a size 46 jersey with Russell labeling. Unfortunately I do not remember if this has 2 inches extra on the sleeves or not. In 2004 I had Beltran sign the back number at Spring Training and later had it framed. The jersey has the 100th season AL patch and the post 9/11 flag patch on it.

One of Beltran's favorite inscriptions refers to the bible reference Philippians 4:13 and he has signed a few autographs for me with this on it. On this auto, he spells it "Fhilip" where as on other autos he has signed it "Phil"

Carlos Beltran 2001 game used autographed home jersey (no longer in my collection)
This 2001 home jersey was originally purchased by me from Howard Wolf. I had it autographed by Beltran when he came to LA to play the Dodgers in Interleague play in 2003. Unfortunately the pen that I used was not the best for autos (I pretty much only use Pilot Paint Pens now). I took some photos of the tagging on the front prior to selling it for reference. It is a size 46 with 2 inches extra for the sleeves. The jersey also has the flag patch and AL 100th patch. Sorry for the lack of detailed pics but they were taken back in 2004. I will post my other 2001 Beltran home jersey next for comparison

Previously posted in the Royals game used thread...

2001 Carlos Beltran game used jersey
This one was obtained originally from a shirt off the back type drawing at the game. I purchased this from the original owner. This jersey was worn prior to September 11th as post 9/11 the US Flag patch was present on jerseys. In 2001 all American League teams wore the 100 years AL patch on the sleeve.

This jersey is unwashed. Dirt, pine tar and sharpie markings are present on this jersey. What is interesting about this jersey is the Russell tagging is the 1996-1999 style tagging. The other 2001 Beltran jerseys that I have handled had the 2001 style Russell tagging.

Carlos Beltran 2006 game used home pants (Steiner LOA)
This is a pair of 2006 game used Mets Beltran pants. The pants are unwashed and come directly (purchased by me) from Steiner Sports. I have only owned one other pair of Beltran pants and they were Mets road pants (tagged 15 Beltran 36-41 37 OB 06 P6). I had seen a pair of Russell tagged Royals Beltran pants before but cannot recall the size on them.

Carlos Beltran 2012 game used Cardinals road jersey (MLB authenticated team issued)
2012 was Beltran's first year as a Cardinal. This is a set 2 2012 road jersey with heavy use. The jersey is MLB authenticated as Team Issued with an offseason authentication date. I acquired the jersey directly from Cardinals Auctions. The jersey has good wash wear, some snags, as well as some pilling on the front of the jersey as seen in the photos. The 2011 World Series Champions patch is present on this jersey as the Cards wore the patch during their 2012 campaign. The jersey is a size 48 which as far as I know is the size that Beltran wore during his time with the Cardinals. The jersey has recently become somewhat of an excess piece in my collection as my next post will show (I try to collect a home and road from each of Beltran's teams). I am still looking for a Cardinals home Beltran jersey.

Carlos Beltran 2013 game used Cardinals World Series road jersey (MLB authenticated)
My most recent Beltran pickup is one of Carlos Beltran's World Series jerseys. He finally made it to the World Series this year for the first time and in game 1 at Fenway he ran into the wall and had to leave the game early. Fortunately for him he was able to come back for game 2 and play in the rest of the series. This road Cardinals game used jersey was last worn in game 2 when he went 2-4 with 1 RBI. I do not know if this was worn in game 1 or not when he made the Grand Slam saving catch but it is possible that it was worn then. I was told that the WS jerseys came from MLB and not the Cardinals (so these were just worn in the WS).

As seen in the photos, not a whole lot of wear on the jersey. A few small snags are present and some very light wash wear is seen on the jersey. World Series patch is present as well as the Stan the Man Musial Patch.

Carlos Beltran 2003-04 Game Glove
Rawlings model Pro601KBSO with BEEA (10-03) date code, ID NO 07. Beltran used to wear Rawlings until he switched over to Wilson when he was with the Mets in 2005. Beltran was wearing a Rawlings glove as late as Spring Training of 2005. This glove has some definite wear in the web as well as on the hand/wrist opening as seen in the pictures. The glove has Beltran's Puerto Rico flag on it as well as his name in script. Beltran is a 3 time gold glove winner.

Beltran is pictured with a style match in the NLCS in 2004 with the Astros and climbing the wall in KC to steal a HR and pictured last is Beltran in Spring Training 2004 with the same model. In 2004 Beltran mainly rotated between this model and a grey version of the same model. In the All Star game he was using the black/brown style.

some Beltran Helmets that I will post today....

2011 Carlos Beltran game used Giants batting helmet (left handed, MLB authenticated)
This is a right flap, left handed batting helmet that Beltran wore in the 2nd half following his trade from the Mets to the Giants. The helmet was purchased directly through the Giants by me. The helmet is MLB authenticated, in October after the season, as team issued, it has a crack on the helmet brim. When the Giants marketed their 2011 batting helmets, they had two for Beltran available, one from each side. This helmet is a size 7 1/2. I do not believe that this is the helmet that he was wearing when he hit his 300th HR (that was from the left side).

Carlos Beltran 2007 game used batting helmet, left handed (MLB authenticated to 9/30/2007)
This is a 2007 game used batting helmet, authenticated to being worn last on the last day of the 2007 season. Beltran went 2-4 in that game, but the Mets lost and completed their choking away of the division. Tom Glavine got shelled in that game giving up 7 ER in 1/3 of the first inning. The helmet is a size 7 3/8 and was acquired through Steiner Sports (Steiner sticker and LAO) as they had the Mets deal at the time. Beltran batting helmets tend to be pretty clean without pine tar or much exterior scuffing. Beltran's name is on both the brim and the back of the helmet in sticker form.

correction to the previous post, the 2007 Mets blue batting helmet was authenticated as Team Issued and collected on the last day of the season. It comes with a Steiner LOA stating it as game used.

Carlos Beltran 2007 Mets black batting helmet, right handed (Steiner LOA)
2007 black batting helmet. Size 7 3/8. This is my only right handed Beltran batting helmet. Beltran's name stickered to the front brim and back of the helmet. 2007 was Beltran's 2nd consecutive Silver Slugger Award

this helmet completes the Beltran 2007 Mets styles of regular batting helmets. This one does not have a size sticker on the inside but I would guess it is a 7 3/8.

Carlos Beltran 2007 game used cracked bat (MLB authenticated)
2007 was another good year for Beltran, he earned an All Star spot, a Silver Slugger award as well as a Gold Glove. This game used bat was last used and cracked on 6-22 against the A's. Below are pictures of Beltran using this bat on 6-18 and 6-20. Beltran started using Marucci bats in 2006 I believe and has primarily used them since. I love the tar on this bat

I don't normally try and collect duplicates (same model/year) of Beltran, but when they have a ton of tar, use and deep seam impressions I can't help myself.

This bat was last used on 9-20-2007 in Florida against the Marlins. September 2007 is remembered often for the Mets collapse in the standings and missing the playoffs. Beltran batted .282/.328/.555 in the month of September to finish the season with 33 HR, 93 R, 112 RBI and 23 SB.

Here is a Carlos Beltran 2001-02 I13 game used uncracked bat also with a tape job on the handle. There have only been a few Beltran bats that I have seen with tape jobs on them. This bat is pretty heavily used, possibly some BP use as well. At the end is a picture of Beltran not with this style bat, but with him in game action with a tape job on the bat.

Beltran used two tone bats a bit more when he was in KC. Not much tar on this one but has nice right side and left side use present.

Carlos Beltran 2002 era game used autographed Carolina Clubs bat
this is a pretty heavily used Beltran bat. Ball and seam marks are present on both sides of the barrel as well as a decent amount of tar. The baseball card below shows Beltran with 2 Carolina Clubs bats that are the same style.

To my knowledge this is the only Beltran WS bat in the market. Sold by the team in Jan 2014 at their fanfest. Can anyone confirm others? Photomatched to his first WS hit and MLB auth to broken in game 3. Does anyone know if he is doing a signing soon? Would love to get it signed and inscribed.

Jason,
Awesome bat. I do know of another Beltran WS bat last used in game 4 that was chipped during action that resides in a collection. After that he started using a bat that got some more tar on it as the series went on. I do not know where the bat(s) used after game 4 are. Cool bat that you have thanks for sharing!

Nice Beltran's. I believe hofbats.com has one for sale last time I looked.

I actually bought this bat. But I have heard some rumblings that a few were leery of the bat because of the tape job. Any thoughts?

I hope these pics are sized right. If not I apologize. I added some of what I think is a style match from the same time as this labeling period of this bat...2002. Any and all feedback is welcome. Be brutally honest.

Mike, thanks for the input. I just ran the Auth code......this is the game 4 bat. I haven't looked but would guess maybe this was the bat he used for the first games. It was broke in the 3rd inning of game 4. I don't know of him breaking any others so would assume his leftover bats went to ST 2014 with the Yanks? I know that happens a lot of the time. Prob mixed in with others but ended up somewhere in u expecting hands.

Jeff,
Doesn't necessarily mean the bat isn't good with the tape, just means it isn't consistent with the majority of his bats. There are a few characteristics that I would look for with Beltran bats.

knob/end of barrel
Earlier in his career before knob stamping or stickers were on knobs most of Beltran's bats would have his number on the knob, sometimes on the end of the barrel. Early LVS number on knob, Carolina Clubs number on knob, Old Hickory number on knob sticker written in sharpie, Marucci number engraved, CTG/Verduro number written on knob, 2009 and on Maruccis mostly have the stickers and if no sticker number is engraved.

Tar/no tar
There are three kinds of Beltran bats that I see. One is the tar/mota stick just on the handle where the hands are. The second, which is my favorite kind, is where there is tar/mota under the label and also where the hands are. There was a blonde Marucci that he used in May 2012 that I would really love to get my hands on. Why he chooses to sometimes do handle and sometimes also under label I have no idea. The third kind which I saw more often in his earlier career than later is where there is no or limited tar.

Ball marks/use
As a switch hitter, Beltran tends to have use on both sides of the barrel. Although not always the case I would say to the right of the barrel (relative to his name) and on the backside his left handed use is present. On the left side of the barrel extending onto his name would be his right handed use. This isn't always the case but I have noticed this more than not.

Jason,

I guess the thing I see is that on the Rawlings, there is a number on the knob. It looks to me to be similar as the ones I see on other bats. It is very very faint so it's difficult to get a good read on that aspect. I added a picture below of the knob along with the two tape jobs together.

There are also ball marks on both sides of the barrel. But there is something else I notice in looking at your 01-02 LS bat with tape. The taping pattern looks the same. Not the length of the tape on the handle but the overlapping of tape; how it's wound around the handle. To me that looks the same.

Carlos Beltran game used 2014 jersey with 75th anniversary Hall of Fame patch (MLB holo/Steiner authenticated)
Last year was probably the worst year in Beltran's career when he returned to NY to play. He had a hot stretch in April and right after the All Star break but other than that was not up to his usual output. For 2014 it seemed as though the longest Beltran would go before switching jerseys was the length of a homestand or road trip. This jersey was last worn on 7/27/2015, but was worn for 10 game stretch between 7/18 and 7/27 (pinstripes appear the same during this 10 game homestand). During that time Beltran went 11/35 for a .314 avg with 3 HR, 6 R, 7 RBI and even 1 SB. There is some a large pilling patch around the front right ribcage as well as another area on the left sleeve. Beltran seemed to return to his size 46 for most of his jerseys last year when he joined the Yankees.

Pictured is the last day the jersey was worn on 7/27 with the patch and on 7/19 when he hit his first HR in this jersey.

Carlos Beltran 2015 game used batting helmet (MLB authentication/Steiner LOA)
I recently picked up a 2015 Yankees Beltran batting helmet used in the 2nd half this year and last used in the Wild Card game against the Astros. The helmet is a 7 3/8 size Rawlings brand and used for his left handed at bats (right ear flap). For the wild card game the rear MLB logo was replaced with a Postseason sticker. I'm still looking for a Royals and Astros Beltran game used helmet if anyone out there has one.

Carlos Beltran game used 2015 Rawlings bat (MLB authentication/Steiner LOA)
In 2015 Beltran used Rawlings bats throughout the year in addition to his usual Marucci's. He used black Rawlings, blonde Rawlings, a grain pattern Rawlings and a few other variations. His signature is present on these models. This bat was last used in Boston on 9/2. Beltran hit an opposite field Home Run over the Green Monster in the 2nd inning and cracked the bat in the 6th inning on a ground out.

Pine tar is present at the label with heavy mota stick on the handle. The bat was last used on 9/16/2007. "32 CB" is written at the end of the bat with his 15 written on the knob as well. Newest pickup...

Think this might be one of the sweetest Beltran bats.

2015 Rawlings bat, cracked on 6/22/2015 for a single. But he used it in many game prior and I photo matched it to having been used to hit 3 homeruns including 2 in one game and one was hit right handed while the other was left handed. I believe he also used it to get several other hits.

Photo matches are based on the cleat marks and also the burned marks(bat still smells like fire).

Please post.

yanks12025, sweet Beltran bat, awesome use.

I'll post two old Hickory bats. Beltran started using Old Hickory bats in 2003 I believe. In 2004 he primarily used Old Hickory bats in KC and in Houston. In the 2004 playoffs he also used Old Hickory bats. In 2005 with the Mets, Beltran continued to use Old Hickory mostly. The 2005 bats have a different label as you will see if the pictures. By the time 2006 rolled around Beltran started using Marucci most of the time.

Up first is a 2003-04 Beltran Old Hickory game used bat
This Beltran bat looks like a 2003-04 era Beltran. If I had to guess I would say it looks more like a 2004 as the "15" on the knob looks more like a 2004 style. Ball marks are present from both sides of the barrel.

Here is a 2004 Beltran game used and signed bat. The bat shows good wear on both sides of the bat with a good amount of pine tar on the handle. It also has cleat marks and embedded dirt in the cleat marks. The bat has been through a lot and came out in one piece. There are no breaks in the bat at all. I have not been able to even come close to photo-matching this bat. One of the reasons I purchased this bat is where it came from. It came right from the collection of a former major league player.

In 2004 Carlos Beltran was elected to the AL All-Star team as a starter but was traded shortly there after. The Kansas City Royals then sent Ken Harvey to the 2004 All-Star game. This would be Ken's first and only All-Star game. He got one at bat in which he struck out. This Bat came out of Ken Harvey's collection. He sold off several of his All-Star related items recently. This bat was among those items. Ken was given this bat by Carlos Beltran who also signed it. I still do not know if this bat was from his time With the Royals or with the Astro's or even from the All-Star game. I was a fan of Ken Harvey's from the time he spent with the Nebraska Huskers baseball team and was elated when he signed with the Royals. I like the story behind the bat and the players involved. Any which way I had always wanted a Beltran bat to go with my Carlos Febles bat. Any Royals fan that was around in the early 90's probably remembers "Dos Carlos" from around the stadium. Some good memories there......

Carlos Beltran 2014 game used jersey (MLB authentication)
This jersey dates to Beltran's first year with the Yankees. He had a horrible 2014 and horrible first month of 2015 before finishing up his Yankees tenure strong, earning his 9th All Star bid this year. The Yankees were on a homestand from 4/7/2014-4/16/2014. On the 16th the Yankees played a double header and wore JRD jerseys for the 2nd game. This jersey was last worn in the first game of that day. In the final game in this jersey, Beltran went 1/3 with a HR. During the homestand, Beltran hit 4 home runs and won AL Player of the week honors. The jersey is a size 46 and is autographed on the rear #6.

Carlos Beltran 400th Home Run game used batting helmet (1st half batting helmet MLB authentication)
I wasn't able to add Beltran's 400th HR game used bat (not available that I know of), and Steiner wanted $3,000 for his jersey so I passed on that. I was able to obtain his game used batting helmet from when he hit his 400th Home Run. This year Beltran has been able to join the 400 HR-300 SB club, 1,500 RBI, 1,500 R, 2,500 hit, 1,000 XBH clubs. On May 15th he became the 4th switch hitter to hit 400 home runs when he went deep off of Zach Duke. Beltran wore this batting helmet for his right hand at bats during the 1st half of 2016 (except for on the road after 5/28). During the Tampa road series 5/28 the Yankees started wearing the matte batting helmets on the road so Beltran no longer wore this on the road after that date. The helmet is authenticated to being last used on 6/30/2016 (Yankees last home game of the 1st half) and is a size 7 3/8.

If anyone has a Royals and/or Astros Beltran game used batting helmet, please let me know as I would like to add those items to my collection.

I finally was able to acquire a pair of game used Beltran cleats. These are from this season with the Astros. The cleats are size 11 and are both autographed on the toe. Since Beltran has mostly been DHing this year, I don't expect his jerseys will show much wear unless he is doing some sliding on the bases. Here is an Orange Astros jersey in Beltran's size 46. On the upper right front neckline there are two small holes present. It is MLB authenticated to being last worn on May 26th when Carlos hit his 5th home run of the season and the Astros went on to win 2-0.

Well that's a career for Beltran now that he has retired. I'm happy that he got to go out a champion even in a reduced role. The Astros wore throwback jerseys against Seattle this past season. Beltran went 1-2 with 2 BBs in the game. The jersey is a size 46.

Not much new in terms of Beltran pickups as he is no longer playing. Here is a 2003 - 1924 KC Monarchs jersey, made it on to a 2004 Fleer baseball card. The jersey is a bigger than usual for the season size 48 by AIS, likely due to the day's throwback theme. Beltran has signed the jersey on the back. This jersey was originally auctioned off by Hunt Auctions (https://huntauctions.com/live/imageviewer_online.cfm?auction_num=20&lot_num=259&lot_qual=) (11/6/2004) and originally came with a LOA from the Royals, that letter has been separated from the jersey along the way.
