I don't think there are ANY Cooper records; however, I have seen photos of Raines using Coopers.

Hi Vintage Deputy and Ken - Ken is correct - Raines used Cooper bats throughout his career. I have owned 3 Cooper models circa 1996 while he was with the Yanks - Two Tone bats around 33.5" - 34" in length and weighing around 31 ounces. I unfortunately sold those years ago and did not keep any pics. Let me know how else I can help. Thanks, Jim

I've yet to see a Raines Cooper go for over $100, and for some reason, despite all Bill James says, he won't get into the HOF without standing in line and buying a ticket, just like me.

Any chance of seeing the end of the knob? The part that we can see looks more like a store model.

Ken's all over the value - I was going to say $75 - $125 before his post depending upon the bat. In the mid 90's, when he was playing, his nice bats would sell from $150 - $175 and rookie bats might go as much as $200. I bet you could pick up a nice rookie era bat if his today for $150......Jim

How do you determine between a Cooper store bat or game issued/used bat? Do store models not have the length and weight stamped in the knob? I have tried to research Cooper bats but the resources are fairly scarce.

Auction says it has Raines # 30 on the knob. I'll post a pic when I get it. I asked seller about the history and he stated "I'm not sure of the year it is from. It's a Cooper Pro 100 TR4. If my memory serves me, I acquired it from Ball Park Heroes, which was a top game used bat seller back when I was buying bats. They regularly advertised in Sports Collectors Digest. Most of the bats I bought were from either Ball Park Heroes or John Taube, another top game used bat dealer. Hope that helps."
