Buy it now $450ish? I know nothing about NFL stuff but the price seems to be a red flag. Maybe some other members can weigh in.

The Steve Young jersey in this ebay ad is as real as the autograph....meaning it is a fake
that is not a jersey worn by Steve Young
That is not even Steve Youngs signature.

Agreed. Wilson did not use ProLine tags in their 1990s NFL gamers.

How does the seller sell without PayPal?

Did eBay change the rules of mandatory PayPal? I thought all sellers were required to accept PayPal for a few years plus now.

Anyone know?

FYI, there's one that is in SCP's monthly auction here:

I can't speak to it's "authenticity", but perhaps Paul or someone else more qualified with 49'er/NFL jerseys from that era can step in with more information.

Nick I would be happy to chime in with regards to both Steve Young "gamers".

First: the eBay shirt is clearly a retail jersey with mud and who knows what else on it. As for the signature, I think it is authentic. I have attached a number of mid 1990s Young autographs and one can clearly see the resemblance. The signature does NOT match his late 1990s-present signature (which I think is quite poor) but is consistent with his early to mid 90s autograph.

Second: the SCP Auction shirt, which sold in their last auction thus it is quite strange that it would show up again. I know who purchased it and they did a fair amount of research on the jersey and came up with a style match. The new owner has a fairly nice NFL collection so it was good enough for him but I still had a few questions thus did not bid.

If you notice the catalog states that the lot with the Steve Young jersey image is SB tickets, not the Young gamer, so it is conceivable that it is a misprint.

What made me question the jersey was the presence of an interior Wilson tag that stated the size. I had called the auction house asking about the shirt and when asked to flip it inside-out, they noticed the interior tagging. I examined other known, authentic and similar 49er gamers in my collection and not a single jersey had the interior tagging.

Knowing that similar jerseys were sold in stores with the exact tagging combined with the lack of "flag tags" by the Wilson tag and the presence of the interior tag, I decided to not bid.

I then discussed this with my friend who won the jersey and he felt comfortable with it due to a number of style matches he had come up with. We left it at that. The signature on the jersey also looks authentic. I have not followed up with my friend to see what he thinks of the jersey but will do so tonight.

I have attached a number of 1993-95 examples of Young signatures as well as some later examples and one can see how his signature changes over time. I stand by my belief that both jerseys have authentic SY autographs.

Always buying 49er game worn items and ALL 1994 49er GU items. Paying a finders fee for information that leads to a sale!
