I always like to see clever/funny inscriptions done by the player, so I like the idea for the bat!

My vote for the best inscription is on a Jamie McLennan islanders game worn mask. If there's any hockey fans on here you'll remember the awful isles fisherman logo jerseys. Here is what Jamie write on the mask when I asked him to write something funny about it:

http://www.gameusedmasks.com/masks/mclennan_islanders_mask_5.jpg

In case it's hard to see:

1995/96 Game Worn this logo was 80% reason we sucked that year! Haha (and then he drew an arrow pointing to the logo)

I got Dick Butkus to inscribe a mini helmet "Packers Suck!"

Even my Packer Fan friends want this helmet.

Maybe it's me - adding "suck" to anything would lose its value.

Why is that? It just "being" narrowed down to a small group of "fanatics" with hater's mentality and nothing more.

I would rather stick with the autograph by itself - why ruined it with something that will not enhanced the value of the item.

just my two cents.

PS. If my friend can get Yu to add - "Yeah, I broke it. Whatchugoingtodoabout it?" Now that would be even better. :D

I am not a Saints fan or JETS hater, but a while back I saw a Kyle Turley singed JEts mini helmet with a giant "X" on both sides of the helmet over the JETS LOGO. Kyle signed the helmet, "Go SAINTS, Boo JETS. (Or something to that effect" I want to say he signed with a makeshift fleur de lis on the white part of the helmet. This was obviously in reference to Kyle throwing Damian Robinson's Jets helemt , my goodness, was that really 10 years ago already?

I have Jeremy Sowers' Team USA game used cap. Inside the cap, he has written:

"Do it for Al Bundy"

I don't collect Cleveland Indians or Team USA gear, but loved the show Married With Children in my late teens!

I once owned a Cubs 1993 GU cap given to me by ex-Cub Dwight Smith in which Smith himself wrote an ID under the brim that included the handle "Shitty Smitty".

Not really an inscription but something interesting written by a player. Just got this hat in today. Andruw Jones hat game worn on July 4, 2012. Interesting writing inside:

I think Albert forgot the rest ...

"And the Angels' owner who throw millions of dollars at my feet." and not to forget

"Oh yeah, the LORD told me to sign with the ANGELS 'cuz the YANKEES are the Evil Empire and the CARDINALS are too naive to think that my heart is bigger than my bank account."

(:D - this is my extended family's opinion who happened to love the CARDINALS. These were their exact sentiment after Pujols stated that "he would do what GOD wants him to do" )

This post is about inscriptions, why must someone always go on an uncalled for rant? Sometimes I wonder why I even bother posting when people do this. Its a damn shame.

I will post pics in a bit. I love getting items signed with off the wall inscriptions. It makes it rare in my opinion. Here are some of mine:

JJ Watt mini "Hide your kids hide your wife"
Wade Boggs "Mr. Supersticious" mispelled haha
Eddie Murray "STEADY EDDIE"
Andre Johnson "I Got This"

I forgot to add Carlton Fisk "Gm 6 1976 W.S. GW HR Stay Fair! Stay Fair!"
Dave Winfield "Winfield Wants Noise"
Hunter Pence "Bam Bam"

Case Keenum "Go Coogs! Is. 40:31 Whose House? Coogs! House!
Rudy Tomjanovich "Never underestimate the heart of a champion"
Mario Elie "Kiss of Death"

We made the trek to Hamilton Ohio today to get a different ball that had been used at my son's first Reds game signed by Homer Bailey. He was one of a few Reds from that years' roster whose autographs have been very elusive.

As long as we were going I thought it would be fun to ask Homer to sign another ball, pictured below. This ball had been Homer Bailey's 3rd career extra base hit as a batter. I asked Homer if there was anything fun he'd enjoy to inscribe on the ball and he choose the inscription totally on his own.

Homer's Choice was pretty cool IMHO.

That one happens to be mine, although I know Bert appreciates it. You have a good memory - that bat has been tucked away for a couple years. It's my favorite as well, thanks.

A friend of mine sent a ball to Bob Uecker and he signed it in green crayon - he wrote sorry couldn't find a pen. It's one of the coolest things I've seen from Uecker. Ill try and get a picture.

I totally agree. I said in your original thread that is a beautiful signature.
