I saw the Warren Spahn bat was brought up recently in another thread. The person who brought it up had issues with it as did I (not that I was going to bid.)

First, is it just me or does the bat look refinished? The finish looks too glossy as if it had been restained. Also, the depth of "Louisville Slugger" and "Warren Spahn" is inconsistant, especially if you compare it with "Genuine" and "Powerized." Seems to indicate that it has been sanded.

Second, the fact that the end of the word "Slugger" is worn off scares me. Seems like someone was trying to get rid of the trademark R.

Finally, the bat is way too close to this one.

For what it's worth, I've noticed a lot of questionable baseball autographs from this seller over the years. And the bat is being sold as-is with no refund allowed. Eric, my apologies if these comments are out of line. Feel free to edit.

The bat seems a bit questionable to me, too. I could be wrong, but it looks like the "Powerized" is the post-1964 version while the labeling under the oval is pre-1950. And I've always assumed that, years ago, H&B put just a player's last name on the barrel, not the entire name. The Spahn bat in Mastro's bat guide has the last name only. Now that I'm seeing other things pointed out (like how the "Louisville Slugger" is off-center under the name), it makes me wonder.
