I saw that auction but didn't bid on it because my friend was bidding on the jersey. Thanks for the heads up.

Just a heads up on the jersey. I heard that there was some issue with the storage of it. Something to do with mold. I inquried about the jersey and was told it was sold. A month or so later I was told the jersey was avaliable again. I was told it was purchased and the returned by the buyer do to this issue. I'm not sure if they the buyer is member, but if he or she is I'd hope they'd chime in.

I just talked to my friend & he said that he did not get the high bid. I wonder if Brian Borsch was the high bidder?

Hi all!

No I was not the high bidder on the auction. I was the original buyer of the jersey though. The jersey was not stored properly as when I originally received it it smelled of strong mildew and on the all the white areas on the jersey I could see faint small greyish dots.
I notified the seller and had to make a decision on what I wanted to do. I opted to return it. I thought about it after and I guess I could have washed it myself, but I wasn't sure if that would have fixed the problem and I wasn't sure if I could return it after that. I figured it wasn't a "must have" for me as it was used in batting practice and not the actual game. If it was the game jersey I would have kept it as I have the bat he used in the game as well as a ball he hit (for a ground out).
Congrats to the new owner. I didn't realize they auctioned it off. I figured they had someone else lined up to buy....

Hey Brian... I would have returned the jersey as well. The jersey could have been permanently stained from the mold.

I wonder if the jersey was placed into an airtight container or bag right after the game. With all of the moisture on the jersey, that would account for the mold growth.
