Washington Redskins Collectors Please Help

Hi, i have what i believe is a Mark May Redskins game used jersey. it's from the the early 1981-84 as russell changed the jocktag in 1985. anyone know how to tell what year it's from and what sort of value would you place on something like this ? i searched google and saw that a mark may game used jersey sold for $616 on americanmem's auction but don't know how reliable that is to compare this to.

anybody that can chime in with any info would be great.

No comment on the jersey, but a clarification on your observation about the dates of the Russell tail tag. That particular style of tail tag was last used in 1983 as the "R" red/white/blue "eagle head" tag was first used during 1983. (You will find both tags used in 1983 as seen in the below photos of two Atlanta Falcons jerseys from 1983).

Of course, NFL teams "recycled" jerseys in subsequent seasons during that era (and still do), so a jersey with the older style tagging could have been used after 1983.

Let's don't delete. I went to a bit of time and trouble to post photos and clarify Russell tagging information for educational purposes that could be useful to other collectors down the road.
