The Royals jersey is real, but tampered with. The Royals didn't use NOBs until 1978 and I doubt McDaniel was small enough to wear a size 40, even in that era. Probably another player's jersey made to look like McDaniel.

The piciture isnn't clear, but it looks like the side of the Rawlings tag with the flag tag has a stitch pattern that is not the same as the other three sides. Plus by that time Rawlings was using the left tail, not the right for tail tagging.

I'll try to come up with more regarding these tomorrow, but my initial reaction is that you didn't miss anything.
