George Brett's bronze bust stolen from museum

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Law officers and museum officials are looking for a bronze bust of former KC Royals third baseman George Brett that is missing from the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
The bust stood outside the Springfield museum as part of a "legends walkway" with about 15 other busts of athletes and three full-size statues, museum operations director Marty Willadsen said Thursday.
"We noticed it missing [Wednesday] so we think it was probably taken Tuesday or Monday evening," Willadsen said.
The museum called the Greene County Sheriff's Department, which assigned a detective to investigate. Willadsen said the museum is not yet offering a reward for the return of the bust valued at $10,000 to $15,000.
While the bust is heavy, it wasn't too heavy for someone to carry away, he said.
