Certainly. The Mets went to racing stripes on the road in 1982. Those do not lend themselves to the patch, so they took it off the road jersey. Still wearing no racing stripes at home, they took it off the 1982 home as well. In 1983, they went to racing stripes at home also. Here's a cool pic:

I won't cover the patch, as Steve has done a nice job with it.

Thanks. I'm just so used to seeing the patch on those jerseys. I flipped through my '83 Mets Yearbook and sure enough saw many players without the patch. Some had it, but these were probably pics from previous years. I noticed in the Minor League "Staff" photo that some guys had the patch and some didn't. I assume that was taken in Spring Training 83? Also noticed that few players wearing the same number (blue jerseys). Spring Training is usually a mixed bag anyways.
