Cy Buker, a member of the 1945 Brooklyn Dodgers, died October 11. He was 92.
Buker only pitched for Dem Bums in 1945, but put up some decent stats in wartime baseball, making one wonder why he never pitched in The Show again. Primarily a reliever, Buker had a 7-2 record, a respectable 3.30 ERA, 5 saves, and finished roughly half of the games he was called in from the bullpen for.
