on this date in 1971, Houston Astros rookie Larry Yount made his Major League debut against the Braves, but it lasted only one warm-up pitch. The 21-year-old right-hander injured his shoulder on his first warm-up pitch in the ninth inning. He pitched in the Minors until 1975 but never got another chance in the bigs. His younger brother Robin turned in a Hall of Fame career.
