That's just dumb!!! Even if this was made from game-worn Barry Sanders pants, I still wouldn't value a toy at $3651.20

This one is listed at only $5,000

So rare that there are only 20 of them in the world, and the same seller has multiples of it??

You want to talk rare? They never made a home white Dr. J. McFarlane, yet I have one. First $3000 takes it :)

It is not unheard of for these figures to be opened and the pants painted like Otis' Dr. J., then resealed.

For the baseball collectors there was a rare chase of Babe Ruth with an alternate hat for 2010. One sold in the neighborhood of i believe 20,000 through Beckett auctions. People love those Mcfarlane figurines.

thats what I would be scared of. one guy said he would never pay 3 grand for a toy. I've seen Boba Fett vintage action figures and barbies sell for 12,000 at auctions. Vintage toys sell for great money and they are a huge business for pickers and garage sale lurkers. Its crazy to see a current to go for that much though thats un heard of!

I occasionaly go to garage sales with my mom when she goes on barbie hunts, with hopes to finding that grail vintage game jersey that the owner dosn't know she has. The best I ever did was jump on a vintage nike white grant hill horse game jersey for 60$ shipped on ebay 100% authentic. It was a beautiful jersey and autographed. I search ebay everyday since i scored on that and have yet to find a steal that good. This was almost 10 years ago, (the lady selling it had no idea what she had, and it was posted 2 seconds before I clicked buy it now) I emailed her and she told me her ex boyfriend left some of his jersey collection at her house and she was selling it all off . I'd be one pissed off boyfriend

The second one was listed the day after the first auction ended. He must have shill bid his auction and didn't end up with a winner.

It's one thing if a toy was tied to a specific event, game, movie, etc., however it's another thing to just produce an item for the sake of it being limited edition. Most of the antique highly valuable items were mass produced, abused, and people seek for the nostalgia that item brings. That is why mint condition older items that didn't survive over the years fetch lots of money to collectors.

To just paint the pants on a toy, call it a 1/20 is ridiculous IMO. The toy is only tied to the player, no specific game, event, childhood memory, movie, etc. There really can't be any nostalgia or demand for items like this other than people thinking its an "investment" because its limited to 1/20. This is just a manufactured collectible that has no real emotion behind it other than someone seeing it as a rare collectible. I bet if you asked the person who buys it, why they bought it, they would simply say it was for their collection of other rare collectibles and has nothing to do with the player itself.
