My buddy is going to get a few autographs on a basketball and wants to know what type of pen to use. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Chris

Go with a silver broad tip paint pen. NO SHARPIE

Sharpie makes a nice thick paint pen. I bought one a few months ago at Michaels, but make sure it's PAINT, not marker, as the previous post said.

Deco or nothing at all. I've never had any failure with Deco, and everything else has failed.

Ditto on the Deco......Stay away from the new Sharpie paint pen as they occasionally drip or bleed and dry slowly.

I prefer black, but it seems silver is the popular color now. Don't use gold.

These were all signed when I got them. The black signatures still look good, the gold is very dull. No idea what was used for the black. Some sort of paint pen?

Silver Deco Broad Tip for sure. However, I can only find them online now as all the stores that carried them in my area have discontinued them.

If there is a Blick in your area they still carry them....but online is probably the easiest way to go. I've never gotten a basketball signed, but a friend does on a regular basis. I have done a few footballs, and always used the broad line as stated below. Silver or Black.....your choice.
