I am about to invest in framing a few jerseys and am looking for some different ideas or looks to make my collection stand out. Anyone have any framed jersey pics to share?

I think it would also be beneficial if you stated where you got it and how much you paid (if you don't mind). I've never framed a jersey before and I think that would be great info for when I decide to frame one. Thanks!

Hi! Framing jerseys is a very tricky business. Professionally done framed jerseys will cost you around 300 to 600 dollars. Its very beautiful indeed. But you cant touch nor even smell the jersey anymore. You just look at it. I am the type that smell and touches my gamers, even sleep with me from time to time. So, I put my gamers in a frame where I can easily remove it and out it back afterwards.....Just like this...Which costs around 75 to 100 dollars....Goodluck my friend! Cheers, Joe

I suppose its subjective but I havent seen an equal to the quality, craftsmanship and affordability of Lake City Framing. The Sonics logo is 5-layer.

I started out getting some of my jerseys framed but finally decided to just get cases so I could have access to and rotate jerseys in and out of the display. I ordered ten cases from Homeplate Heroes and could not be happier with the results. They are not cheap but comparable to the cost of framing and they will work with you if you order a significant number.

Here is a pic of a Sabathia TBTC jersey I had framed by Sports Gallery out of California. It turned out great but I regret not having the flexibility to switch jerseys out.

Below is a pic of three of the new cases I had made by Homeplate Heroes. The angle is not ideal as the cases are hung pretty high but they look good and I can change the jerseys out pretty easily.

If you get your stuff professionally framed remember that not all frame shops have experience framing sports memorabilia. I would see if they have examples.

Here are a couple I've gotten done, although they're not game used, just signed authentics. I like to have a photo framed with the jersey. I also like to have the add a pocket to the back to hold the COA or LOA if there is one.

The Yzerman was around $400 and the Jeter was about $300

I only have TWO Jerseys in Frames - my Two Modano Stars Jerseys - and both of those frames can be opened and change out the jerseys.

I got these years ago (1999 maybe) from a shop that is no longer open in Denver for about $80.00 each.

But for me personally, I prefer mannequins:

Can you email me some pics of the Hamiltons? I'd like to have mine framed like that.

Here is my Cal Ripken framed jersey. It was done by Wallstars and it is amazing. It also has UV Glass, dbl suede matting, ect. It cost $250 to have it done, but that was about 10 years ago.

Man, you have a NICE setup there! Just simply beautiful framed jerseys and gloves. I especially like the Alvarez, now if he can just start hitting again...

Got this at a charity auction. It was not offered as game used or anything. I bid the opening bid, and no one else topped me. When I looked at it the next morning I was surprised to see it was in all probability a game used jersey..there are repair marks and some stains. Garrard changed to the other type of jersey material mid-season and I spent most of the next morning looking for a photo match to no avail. Still a good piece for what I paid.

Nice Reggie jersey, Is that a photo match with it? Or from that game?

Yeah, from the game. He wore it in 2 pre-season games and possibly 1 regular season game. The sleeves have been customized like I can only find in a couple of pics. he usually had 4 pleats put in the sleeves and this one has 8 making it a little tighter.

Both of these were framed in the Boston Area for @ $300. I went with the special UV plastic on one of them and it was a bit more.

You are insane for getting game worn jerseys framed like that!!!

They are already torn, stretched and permanently damaged in those frames.

Torn, Stretched and permanently damaged??? How exactly were you able to determine that?

Really??......How about nicely preserved so that people can admire them? The other option is hanging in my closet with all of the rest of them where no one ever looks at them?

They are clearly stretched and pinned which produces holes and irreversible damage. Go ahead and take on out of the frame, you might be appalled at what the framer did to your jersey. They might even be glued and cut to to fit in the frame. The way your game worn jerseys are framed definitely will cause them to have irreversible damage and the sooner you get them out of those frames, the better. The frames you are using are not meant for gamers, but simply for autographed jerseys etc.

For gamers, you should use something like the following:
http://www.freedomdisplaycases.com/jersey-display-case.html

That way, the jersey doesn't get stretched, torn, glued, cut and so on. It's also good practice to adjust the way the jersey hangs once ever few months to avoid irreversible crease damages such as hanger nipples and so on.

Thanks for the advice, but I am quite happy with my framings......:)

New England Picture has framed 100's and maybe 1000's of Game Used Jerseys for all of the Major Boston Sports Teams and many of the local Superstars. They have a list a mile long of each Superstar's Game Used Jersey that they have framed and personally hung in their homes.

You know nothing about the Company or what technique they use to frame a jersey, but you know that they are physically destroying the jersey to a point that it is unrepairable.....cutting it.... gluing it....ripping it.....

Its an unwashed Football Jersey that smells like crap.....What else can they do to destroy it???

If you're unsure, Sfdisplay and DisplayGifts both offer some nice cases that support swapping out pieces at a pretty decent price. The nice thing about *not* going with permanent frames is that it gets you out of the inaccessibility issues for just a small aesthetic sacrifice.

If any of you guys live in the NW let me know. I live in Portland and go to Seattle quite a bit. Anyway I own a custom frame shop and specialize mainly in sports memorabilia and my prices are all based on wholesale prices. Jerseys run $175-200 and I can cut logos or whatever. I can also get any photos needed.
