hi all--

does anyone know when the registered "R" symbol first appeared on rawlings tags on major league baseball caps and jerseys??? i would imagine it was sometime in the 50's, but does anyone know the exact year???

It seems the first year with the "R" was the 1963-71 tag. I could not make out the registered symbol before that. That is my initial analysis, I could be wrong. I would say 1963, until proven otherwise.

I stand corrected. I found the "R" on the late 50s-early 60s tagging.
