Have a jersey from an important game? Have a bat that hit a famous home run? Show off the items that hold an important place in sports history.

I'll start off with mine: The batting practice jersey worn by Cuban baseball superstar Frederich Cepeda when Cuba went on to win the silver medal in the first World Baseball Classic in 2006.

This would not rank as sports historical, but rather player historical. These are the very first pair of cleats and jersey worn by Jordan Norwood (WE ARE...PENN STATE!) in an NFL game. It was also the only regular season game he ever dressed for Philly. He is now with Cleveland.

Nothing big but, this could be the first autograph from Ichiro Suzuki on a game used item on US soil. I caught a foul ball during the very first Hawaii Winter League game. I was the first person at the gate where the players came out & I got the players to sign the ball. Ichiro's signature is just below my logo & Bill Mueller is just above it.

Here's a photo that I took of that game. I got it signed during the next game.

Maybe infamous?

This is Rodney McCray's home jersey from 1991 when he played in AAA and ran through the outfield wall in Portland during a game. Unfortuantley, not THE jersey, but one of his two jerseys from same season.

Manny 2007 ALDS walk off HR bat vs Angels.

Manny Ramirez X-bat was used to hit the walk off HR in game 2 of the 2007 ALDS.

Manny homered off of Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez with two outs in the ninth inning and sent the ball towering over the green monster. The Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-3 to take a 2-0 lead in their AL playoff series.

http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=9081763

Manny also used this bat two days later in Anaheim to hit another HR of off Jered Weaver. David Ortiz led off the Boston fourth with a solo homer. Manny followed by pummeling a long ball onto the rocks in center field. It was Manny's 22nd homer in postseason play, tying him with Bernie Williams for the all-time lead.

Thanks, Bobby

Johnny Bench 1976 World Series Game Used bat:

He used this bat in the '76 Series until the end of Game 3 when he had 6 of his 8 total hits in the four games, going on to be named MVP of the Series. Bench hit .533, with a double, triple and two home runs for one of the all-time best teams.

I'd have to say this one, even though its a record being broken that is pretty obscure and nobody seems to really care about... "Most 3-Double Games in a Single Season ever recorded." Billy Butler had 4 3-double games in 2009. I also have a bat he used in the second 3-Double game of 2009.

This is one of my favorite 'historical' pieces... I have no 'positive' proof that it is what I believe it to be, but pretty strong indications.

It is a 1933 NY Giants Team signed baseball. A lot of the sigs are 'soft' - Ott, Hubbell, Terry (you can see the Wm from his standard Wm H 'Bill' Terry auto on the sweet spot and the other parts of the sig match up with known exemplars)

It is on an AMERICAN LEAGUE William Harridge Ball (Harridge Red/Blue Stitch Balls were only made for 3 years - Harridge became President in 1931 and in 1934 balls were all red stitching) so this is a LAST year Harridge Red/Blue Stitch Ball.

I bought it after doing my HOMEWORK. A lot of questions were asked about WHY the 1933 Giants would sign an American league Ball... well, the ball shows good toning that could very well be attributed to being 'mudded up' and game use.

The 1933 Giants were the WORLD SERIES Champions and I have very strong belief that this ball was GAME USED in the 1933 World Series during a game at Griffith Stadium against the Washington Nationals and happened to be retrieved by a Giants fan who had it signed.

Here are the pics - you be the judge:

I have the last out baseball from the 1939 World Series when the Yankees defeated the Reds. The ball was caught by shortstop Frank Crosetti & he kept the ball for about 60 years before selling it. How about Earl Cooper's 1981 SB game worn jersey, where he caught Joe Montana's first post season TD?

Funny thing is that at one point I was going to trade this jersey to another 49er collector. I was at his house and he commented on how nice the jersey looked due to all the spilled beer stains on it from the post game celebration. The team wore new jerseys for the SB so the shirt does not show tons of use but the comment about the stains made me want to keep it!

I told him that I just could not make the trade and he understood completely. I ended up buying a 1993 Steve Young gamer with team letter from him instead.

Always buying 49ers (yes the 5-1 49ers!!!!!) gamers and paying a finders fee.

This is the scorecard Yankee announcer John Sterling used during Game 2 of the 2007 ALDS. This is famous for Joba Chamberlain blowing the save when he was swarmed by midges in the 8th inning. He walked two and threw two wild pitches. The bugs showed up for that half inning only, and the Yankees lost in 11 innings. It is also signed by Joba.

Dave, I don't think so because this glove broke a lace in the webbing in Game 4 of the WS and he used a different glove from that point for the rest of the series. I have looked at it from every posible angle as to why it is inscribed 07. The only thing I can think of is he incorrectly labeled it before he put it up for auction for his foundation, which is where it originally made its way into the hobby.
