This bat is supposedly a game used Carlos Pena game used 2008 World Series bat.

http://cgi.ebay.com/CARLOS-PENA-TAMP...em2c5d31 9489 (http://cgi.ebay.com/CARLOS-PENA-TAMPA-RAYS-GAME-USED-WORLD-SERIES-MLB-BAT-/190542091401?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5d319489)

But there is no model number after "Genuine" above Pena's facsimile signature.

I sent this message to the seller on June 6th.

Hi,
Can I get the MLB Authenticated number? Also what about better pictures of the bat? My email is dzscope@ gmail.com . The bat doesn't appear to be a pro model. My reason for saying so is, there is no model number next to the "GENUINE" above Carlos Pena's facsimile signature.
PLMK.
Thank you,
David

I do not want to accuse anyone of wrong doing.

What are the possibilities here?

Bat shows tons of use with pine tar.

Bat appears to be a retail bat, has no model number after "Genuine".

Has a MLB Authentic hologram.

Dave,
I had been wondering the same thing. It wouldn't be uncommon for the '08 bat to be used in '09...but the lack of model number does throw ya. But then to have a hologram...maybe the best way is to go back & watch the at bats from that game..

The auction ended last night and the seller never sent me pictures as promised. I think that speaks very loud on its on.

I get the impression the seller is selling a bat used in 2009, but labeled for the 2008 World Series. They wrote a crappy description and are a bit misleading with their title.

You know, if they don't give enough information maybe someone will bite. Instead with lack of information the item received zero bids.
