Well, I know that it's June in some parts of the earth. So I thought I would start a June pickups thread. Never started one of these before, so I am pretty excited.

I just received a Justin Smoak MLB debut game used baseball, complete with grass stains and everything.

Thanks so much to forum member jcowboy2001 for parting with his Smoak ball for my enjoyment.

I'm still after a Smoak home run ball, so if anybody has one, write to the address in my signature.

Not game used, but for it. Just picked up this display case for some jerseys from my local Hobby Lobby. They wanted to get rid of it and sold it for $100. Found the cap case for $45 off craigslist.

I think you did pretty well! I certainly would be happy if that were my box of Mystery Gamers, save for the Hermida cleats you got some pretty solid players. If nothing else, that's a pretty sweet Butler glove.

I didn't get a jersey, you either get a jersey or a glove. I personally would rather have the glove so I was pretty happy when I opened the case and saw game used glove on the box.

Bryant Young 1994 RARE rookie non-throwback gamer worn vs KC Chiefs. Numerous repairs and hits! Only time Montana faced Steve Young in an NFL game. Only game that season team wore white non throwback jerseys. The Steve Young shirt is coming next!!! Both Young shirts have team letters although the BY shirt has a unique team letter.

I also have picked up a 93 Steve Bono away gamer and a 96 TD Tommy Vardell home gamer. The Vardell is a beauty with numerous hits, field paint plus the 50th patch. Pics to follow.

Always buying 49ers gamers and ANY 1994 gamer and paying up to a 500$ finders fee for the right shirt!

My first pickup in awhile was a big one. Tim Duncan home jersey worn in Game 5 of the first round of the playoffs this year. Yes, it sucked they got upset by an 8th seed but Tim has been my favorite NBA player for many years even though he whipped my Knicks in the Finals back in the day. I think it may end up a significant jersey as well because it may be his last home jersey (or second to the last depending on hich half he wore it in). If there is a lockout and next season is lost I can't see Tim coming back at almost 37 after a year layoff, which wouldn't be bad because him and Shaq could go into the Hall together if that happened. The jersey is from MEIGray if your reading this thanks Barry. I don't like to plug businesses but what Barry has done in procuring the jerseys he is offering right now is just amazing!!! I never thought these players stuff would be available outside of an auction. Great job and hopefully you can make such a great selection availale next season.

Just got this Penny Hardaway Game Used 95-96 jersey from GWU.com. This is my first game used jersey and is of my favorite player of all time! I'm very excited! I'm new to game used collecting. I am a sports photographer for a small college here in Hawaii. Got a nice jersey of All-Conference setter Katie, with the ultimate photomatch. The univerity had only 2 jersey that was used only for 1 season, the other jersey was blue. I took this pic of her setting 2 seasons ago wearing the very same jersey. All 5 limited autographed baseballs numbered to 5 from Onyx. These have 2007 78th draft pick Atlanta Braves hand written by Freeman on them.

The Kobe jerseys are weird. I see the one on Meigray is 6xl plus 4. The Duncan is only 4x plus four. Kobe is 6 foot 6 200 pounds, Duncan is 7 feet 250. Mickeymbz, do you think its because of the new jerseys they switched to this year? What size did he used to wear?

Kobe does like 'em baggy, although this is extreme, even by his hip-hop standards. From the mid-200s thru 2009-10, his sizing was both 54 and 56 with extra length.

IMO the guy is the best player of this era hands down. All those Lebron fans when was the last time Kobe failed to score ten points in the NBA Finals like someone did tonight in Dallas. Congrats on the really cool pickup. I don't know and maybe Barry can clarify this if the jerseys Meigray has were only worn in one game or in some cases half a game. If so that accounts for the lack of wear. I got a Duncan from this program, have yet to receive it but am interested to see how cheap these things are made for myself.

Nice jersey. Gload struck out in his one at bat. Love the Civil Rights Game patch on the top back. Comes with a MLB and Steiner cert. Noticed that there is no 2011 year patch on the inside of the jersey like other Phil's Majestic jerseys, but the wash tag does show wear from at least one washing.

On March 30th, the Rockies played an exhibition game against the Drillers, though Giambi was not expected to play. He was a surprise arrival, so the team took another player's nameplate, and taped a printout of Giambi's name over top.

This awsome bat came in the mail today. It's a cracked Ryan Braun bat that is MLB Auth. 402863FJ. He cracked this bat on May 14, 2011 off of Jeff Karstens of Pitt in the 3rd. The bat shows great game use with many ball marks, stitch imprints, bat weight mark, and lots of mota stick.

A couple new Kurt Suzuki bats. The 1st bat is a kind of rare for Suzuki, its a Diego bat. From my understanding Eric Chaves was trying to get a lot of the A's player to use his brand of bats, when he first bought the company. He made a few bats for each guy that wanted. The second is a Marucci from 2010, for some reason these are hard to find, considering he used Marucci and SSK all last season. Both are cracked, have his typical pine tar pre 2011 on the lower handle, his number 8 on the knobs, and show nice use.

Here is a May 7, 2010 MLB authenticated game used Justin Smoak Rangers jersey. A thank you to Nate Devlin, who was awesome to work with in getting this jersey. He took several pics and is an all-around nice guy.

Below are my crooked jersey pictures, which I had to straighten in Picasa. It looks like the jersey matches up to the one Smoak used in his first RBI game, but I will have to rely on GUU's photomatch experts to tell for sure.

A couple new Kurt Suzuki bats. The 1st bat is a kind of rare for Suzuki, its a Diego bat. From my understanding Eric Chaves was trying to get a lot of the A's player to use his brand of bats, when he first bought the company. He made a few bats for each guy that wanted. The second is a Marucci from 2010, for some reason these are hard to find, considering he used Marucci and SSK all last season. Both are cracked, have his typical pine tar pre 2011 on the lower handle, his number 8 on the knobs, and show nice use.

I found in on Craigslist of all places...I paid $75 and have no idea whether that was a good price or not, but I thought it was such a cool and unique piece that the value really didn't matter.

I really wish Flint could keep a hockey team for more than a couple of years...I made it up for a handful of Warriors games this season, but it's just not the same as the good ole' days of the (ORIGINAL!) IHL and the CoHL/UHL!

My all time favorite basketball player. A very rare vintage late 1980's Portland Trail Blazers Road Game Worn Jersey and Shorts set of Billy Ray "Dunk" "The Black Superman" Bates. Size 42 +1 inches and size 34 plus inseam shorts. Blazed the NBA for about a year and a half before dissapearing in obscurity. Later reborned and became the greatest import in the Philippine Basketball Association, he was like Michael Jordan over there........This is my Holy Grail!!!!!! Enjoy!

While not new pickups, these gamers were autographed and inscribed by one of my all time favorite 49ers-Brent Jones. I had the pleasure of hooking up with him a couple of weeks ago and he was such an absolute gentleman. He enjoyed seeing his 1994 gamers and even mentioned "the good old days".

I picked these bats up yesterday at a local flea market. All the bats show great use. 5 out 6 bats have side writting on them. One bat still has the stamps still stuck on it from mailling it back to H&B. Their from the H&B bat vault sale. Couldn't pass them up. The bats are of the following players. Yeah! the current Hawks jerseys have a tag inside them along with a COA from the organization. Not sure when the tagging started though? As far as sets go?? It all depends on the player. I've seen Toews with up to 3 sets. Generally 2 sets, Home and Away for all players total of 4. The black alternates 1 set, but I believe most players only use just 1 jersey.

The auction photo wasn't the greatest, and the description meager, so I didn't really know what I had till I had it, and I have to say I'm really pleased. There's a small, inside-out handle crack, an interesting and intricate tape job, and tons of pine tar, as you can see. Best of all, the knob has a number, and there are initials ('EH') in the cup, written in silver paint pen.

I started out without a lot of hope of being able to i.d. who actually used this bat, but the number and the initials were promising. I went to the team's official website, and started scrolling through the photos. Almost immediately, I came to a photo of a player wearing '69'.

The captioning was hard to figure out. There were numerous "headlines" and player names above and below each photo, so it was difficult to know who this player was...so I went looking for a roster.

Elian Herrera wore '69' for the Aguilas Cebaenas during the 2010 Winter League season. He's also a minor leaguer for LA's Chattanooga team - which would explain how the bat got to Chattanooga, the location of the Seller from whom I obtained it.

So now I've doubled my Caribbean bat collection. :D

I just picked up this awesome 2011 Game issued Mizuno of Ichiro !! The bat is clean of any ball marks but does show signs of light pine tar. The autograph is 100% on the money.

Found this Indianapolis Indians jersey in an antique shop this past weekend. Thought it was cool and the price was decent so I brought it home. I date it to between 1978 (Wilson tag thread) and 1983 (the last year they were a Reds affiliate). If anyone has more info I love to hear it.

Miami (OH) grad and the main reason Roethlisberger and that offense in 2003 had such a great year! Plus was one of my all-time favorite people while I attended Miami and were in capstone together.

Just received a jersey I've long waited for. It was acquired directly from the Reds and shows great use. Used from beginning of season up to and including Father's Day. Matched to multiple homeruns and a walkoff hit. Can't say how excited I am.

How are the ribbons applied to the jersey? Is there any telling? I have a jersey that was worn on both Mother's Day and Father's Day and you cannot even tell a patch was once on the jersey.

I just left town and didn't get a chance to look at that part, but last year I purchased the used mothers day ribbons and they were simply adhesive patches meant for one time use. This year the Reds sold the jerseys after fathers day and left them on, from my quick inspection I think this is still the case.
