Larry "Bo" Osborne, a 6-year major leaguer who played for the Tigers and Senators in the late 50s/early 60s, died over the weekend at age 75. Complications from diabetes and other illnesses were the apparent causes.
Osborne was a 1B by trade, but also played 3B, LF, RF and C during his stint in the bigs. He sometimes referred to himself as "a jack of all trades and a master of none".
He won the Class AAA Triple Crown in 1960, edging some guy named Yastrzemski out for the batting title, .342 to .339.
