is this most likely an issued jersey due to the size??? or is it possible it was gu, miss-tagged and customized to make it a 46, and could measure out to a 46 arm pit to arm pit?

Griffey wore a size 44 early in his career. The Rawlings tag is correct for 1991 but I'm not sure about the placement. I'm assuming this is the jersey on e-bay due to the tile background and they represent the same photos.

The seller states that they purchased the jersey from California Sports Investments but lost the letter. I contacted Ron and he stated that he has not owned or sold a 1991 Griffey road Mariners jersey.

Yes thank you Griffey fan, i too contacted ron with the same answer, i also asked about the Johnson this seller also has, and Ron told me he sold 2 rj's but doesn't remember them being the mesh style! So i don't know what to believe, the seller is extremely difficult and hard to deal with, every time i ask a question he gives me attitude... He told me he doesn't know why Ron said the jersey didn't come from him, he assured me it did along with the johnson. the tagging in the inside tail is correct from what I've seen, anymore help would be appreciated!

i also asked the seller why he originally didnt show pics of the tags and the loa for the johnson, i didnt get a reason, but it seems fishy not to produce the 2 key pieces of info when trying to sell your items!!! I had to ask him to send tag pics for the griffey...

I have asked for opinions of site, and the 44 is suspect with most, and people seem to think that it is most likely an issue and would have been to small for Griffey to wear. Although i have seen an 89' with the 44 tag that sold for a lot

Although I don't have any first-hand experience witnessing what Griffey wore I've seen several jerseys from 1989 that originated from Coast-To-Coast (Unique Sports) as well as BP jerseys from the early 1990's . . . all size 44. Later in the mid-1990's Jeff was selling Griffey game used jerseys with a size 46.

I'm not sure why others would be suspect of Griffey wearing a size 44. I would be interested why they feel it's the incorrect size. What I've seen with Coast-to-Coast, Mill Creek and auctions would seem consistent.

I ask that Dave M. lend his knowledge in this one, i cant make heads or tails of this, and why this seller says he had a coa from csi, and Ron has never seen this jersey in his store before! So are you saying this jersey is a gamer? And you believe to the best of your knowledge Griffey has worn 44's?

Yes, it's my understanding as a Griffey game used collector and speaking to those people who worked with him that he wore size 44 early in his career.

If I personally felt good about this jersey I would have bid on it already.
