Okay, so I'm checking my email yesterday, and I get one from a guy who's been emailing me about some Diamondbacks prospects' bats that he has, and the entire email reads: "I also have a Jarred Ball."

My first instinct, naturally, was to write back, "Sorry to hear that - it must be very painful."

Trouble is, there are just so many people out there who were, apparently, either born without a sense of humor, or had it surgically removed at some point.

Anyway...that's the best straight line I've gotten in days.

What is sad is that I actually have his Pittsburgh Pirates nameplate that I bought this past year at Piratefest......I guess that autographed ball is for me (lol).

Not game-used, per se, but good card show humor (I hope) from this past weekend in Rosemont).

1) At the booth I'm assis ting at, a guy questions the math skills of the person who hand-wrote a sale sign. Checking it out, the signmaker (also the dealer who paid for the booth) is stunned to see his sign reading "$2 EACH, 20 FOR $50".:p (It was supposed to be 30, not 20)

2) Same dealer returns from a trade with another show dealer in which he obtains a print of former Kentucky Derby winner Northern Dancer. As he proudly shows a buddy of mine and me the print, depcting the Derby winner at age 25, my buddy asks, "What year was he a horse?" (meant to ask what year he won the Derby.)

3) The show in Rosement features a stand with a man offering to shine shoes. A wall advertisement gives his name, what he does, and offers the enticement "Ladies Welcome" with a directional arrow underneath. Problem was, the arrow wasn't pointing to his shoe shine stand...it was pointing to the open doorway of the men's room.

So, I got an e-mail from the ladies where my bats get mailed to. All the e-mail says is "You have a package."

How do they know? LOL

I thought about having them re-word their e-mails, but I'm sure a lot of guys need the encouragement.
:D

I dated a girl in college who had a habit of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Here are the 2 I remember:

(After looking at a game worn jersey on my wall that had a huge team repair) "What idiot seamstress sewed this for you? Stupid newbie used WAAAY too much string to fix a small tear. Pathetic dumbass!"

(She picked up a game used bat and swung it when she was drunk After putting it down and while she was surrounded by some friends) "I was playing with my boyfriends huge stick and now my hands are all sticky!" .......Just classic.
